Ah yeah, that's where I saw it earlier. I was waiting until lunch to watch it and couldn't find it until I went on this thread. I would merge the posts onto there but I'm not sure how to and Spurf and PNP seem to make a mess of it when they try

it amazes me that after all these years, no one has had a word with Gerry Francis and told him he needs to sort his hair out.
I used to deliver Gerry Francis's post. A hundred quid Christmas tip every year. Shame he can't afford a few quid to get a decent hair cut !!
Best chant of the afternoon at Fulham on Saturday, was both sets of fans singing "Rafa Benitez, we want you to stay". .
Anyone see the highlights of Real v Ajax last night. Modric seemed to be at the centre of most of the good play, helped set up the first 3 games. A not very nice part of me hoped he would fail there, but if the highlights are anything to go by, he looks to have hit the ground running.
I've noticed he's getting a start in the CL, but not too many in La Liga, he's only got 10 apps there, 1 goal, 0 assists.
Yeah, he got about 3 minutes against Atletico the otherday so it's not going that well for him. Personally I think Mourinho's mad not to be starting him in the league, especially since the team's struggling to find their best form at the moment.
It was an important win beating team of the moment Atletico and keeping man of the moment Falcao quiet! JM can't make his mind up between Khedira and Modric it seems, Ozil and Di Maria seem favourites so its case of who to drop. The game before that Khedira played the first half v Betis, and Modric played the 2nd...he made no difference they lost 1-0!
You closed a thread asking anyone if that liked American football.I hate the rubbish. On tv it's a commercial programme interupted by some one throwing a hand held thing to a bloke running for his life to catch the bloody thing at the other end....and they call that football! Americans call this run and catch game football. Americans call football soccer. Americans call fighting boxing. What do they call factories that make boxes?
I went to see a game a few years back when I was in California. Such a pantomime of a sport. It amazes me how thousands of people turn up, even for the college matches. The best thing about it is the cheerleaders. Infact that's the best thing about all american sports.
I've been reading reports about older retired players suffering huge mental disorders in their later life. One guy (Jovan Belcher) has recently put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. Another (Dave Duerson) left a note donating his brain to medical research then shot himself in the chest. It seems like the players are twice as heavy as they were, and the helmets offer no protection. They're getting one concussion after another and it's killing them. Of course, the Americans love it. It's car-crash stuff. There are stories about parents and coaches goading their children into making bone breaking tackles, and the children are following the orders. It's a league above our parents shouting at the ref. The other side of the coin, and the one I'm most interested in, is that some parents are rightly worried, and instead of sending their children to play American football, they're sending them to play proper football.
