Yeah, Wolfsburg were 3-0 down at half-time, too. We need to avoid losing at home to Anderlecht in our last game to guarantee a place in the next round. Does it go to goal difference or head-to-head if we win and join Barca on 11 points? Good wins for Liverpool and Villa. The Brummies are through. The Scousers need to beat Inter and hope that the Italian don't win their game in hand against the group leaders, Rosenborg. 4 of the 3rd placed teams still go through, though.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8295082? Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas hopes to have Scott Parker back in action in the next two weeks. England international Parker has yet to play this season after undergoing an Achilles operation in August. Parker is back in light training and Villas-Boas is excited at the prospect of having the midfielder back in his plans. "He is in light training but we hope in the next two weeks he will be available. He is making big progress," Villas-Boas told The Sun. "His impact can be decisive. He was player of the season last year and we expect him to be one of our main strengths. "He hasn't lost his abilities. Now we have resumed light training with him he has been absolutely amazing."
Very good news. We are all complaining about losing late goals and not controlling games but remember this was exactly what we were complaining about before Parker joined us. Parker does the simple things very well indeed and adds steel to our midfield protecting our back four more than any other player we have and that includes Sandro IMO. The sooner he's back the better.
It'll give Sandro a much needed rest, he's had a heavy schedule so far. Elsewhere in the news Scolari is back in charge of Brazil, and he's made a blinding start with his first press conference! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-20550336
Looks like Villa are having the same problems with Bent that we had, all creativity is sapped out when he plays. He is only going to be successful at clubs that have no ambition to play entertaining football.
I think he'd be best off moving abroad, maybe to Italy, he can't keep bouncing around clubs in the Premier League.
I wonder if Bent's got enough sense to take stock of his current situation and work on the weaknesses in his game? I sincerely doubt it, unfortunately. I've got a lot of respect for Lambert for having the balls to drop him in Villa's current situation, though. Brave decision.
I'm so wrapped up with Spurs that I overlooked England's fantastic 38-21 win over the All Blacks. Brilliant England.
Great watch that, HBIC. cheers puzzled as to how "he never thought he'd be able to see the stadium in his life". - really?! it's not like you're short of cash mate! I'd like to know more about our american following, perhaps RedWhiteAndErmBlue can give us more of an insight? I was watching an interview with some of the students at an academy that Beckham runs in america and they say he's changed the way youngsters are thinking about "soccer". They said that a generation of kids are finally realising why the rest of the world are so into it. - With Clint and Brad in our squad, I wonder if there'll be more spurs fans emerging in the USA as result of the Beckham/our US players influence? If Levy is secretly trying to dominate america on the back of Beckhams work, it's genius. - Let's not forget the Under Armour kit brand too. The process might have already begun and the signs are certainly there. We need a TV show like Liverpool had! Does anyone know of other American celebs that support Spurs? I know Jason Biggs from American Pie is a huge fan too. We need these people to influence their fellow americans!
This is also a good watch. A great reward for one of our younger fans who's been through a lot.
