Bookies have City at 2-1 on and Chelsea at 6-1. Ever seen a poor bookie?
I'll be very happy with a draw, and that has to be the minimum result.
Next we have Malmo twice, and if we don't get through that, we should put up a pointer to show where to jump off the cliff.
Man Utd also, now above us, and in the top 4 after they got shot of the manager who wouldn't let the team play as they can, and replaced him with one who does. Same players, different team.
Mourhino did himself no favours with his dumb selections, isolation of very good players for whatever reason, rabid criticism of players, reluctance to play people with skill and flair, and very negative tactics.
Sarri is not in that league, but needs to better use the talent at his disposal, and open his mind.
    Hopefully starting today.

I have a gut feeling you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I watched the game on SKY, we didn’t play that badly but City passed us off the park for long periods and they took their chances well. More of a worrying result for Liverpool in terms of winning their first ever Premiership title. I’ll be at Wembley in 2 weeks time and I still have every confidence that we can beat City there.

Which goal was worse? We gave them 4. First one for me, Alonso

Didnt watch first half but it doesnt surprise me alonsos involved at the back.

Still shocking to lose 6 0 but i cant say im surprised. We have been pretty abject at every rival when away from home

Jorginho is a big part of that

Ross Barkley back header gifting Sergio Aguero a goal. Ross Barkley was at Everton and doesn't want to see Liverpool winning the Premiership?

    That went well.
Funny when you keep selecting the same players , and they keep playing the same way, and the team keeps falling apart every 2 games, why would you act surprised??

    Player ratings
Kepa 6 One point for each time he picked the ball out of the nets.
Dave 2 the number of times he was skinned by Sterling.
Rudiger 3 the number of times he cursed Jorghino for his dodgy back passes.
Luiz 3 the number of excellent long passes he made when he realised Jorghino can only pass backwards.
Alonso 0 exactly the number of good things he did.
Kante 3 times he cut out danger
Jorginho 0 what he brings to the midfield.
    Barkley -5 enough said
Hazard 5 huffed and puffed all night
Pedro 2 the number of games he has left in him
Higuan 4 the number of times per minute he wondered why the hell he listened to Sarri.

RLC 4 times he actually ran towards the opponents goals
Kovacic 4 times he beat his man
Emerson 3 times he is better than Alonso

Manager 0 number of weeks he has to fix his disastrous mindset and start improving the team.

Message to Sarri. There's a few big rubbish bins and a very big broom behind the sheds. Put the broom through your wooly thinking, and put your rubbish ideas about Jorghino and Barkley being PL class midfielders in any of the bins.

To me, Sarri’s downfall is seemingly wanting to build his side around Jorginho. Jorginho is no where near being a world class player so to me it seems lunacy trying to build a great side around him. In central midfield it has to be Kante and a powerful tackling and energetic central midfielder - yet to be signed - along side him.

The ‘big fat Spanish waiter’ that is Benitez recently defeated Manchester City with a Newcastle side nowhere near as good as ours. Benitez had his players closing down Manchester City’s players and thus stopping them playing. We tried to match Manchester City with expansive open football and got dicked 6-0 as a result.

I was surprised but not pleasantly unfortunately !!
City were slick and direct, everything we aren't. If Aguero got a sight of goal ,he fired. We get a sight of goal and make 5 passes trying to find someone in a better position. By that time you, and every other team we play, has 8 men back in defence.
What is frustrating is that Sarri won't try what Bristol Blue suggests, Kante at CDM, and I'd put RLC in as the attacking mid, Barkley being simply useless, and we have a couple of options for 3rd mid. Not saying this will transform us, but surely worth a try, cause nothing else works at all. Good luck running down the Scousers.

First one out would be Alonso for me
Every time I see him play he’s dreadful

Kante next to Jorginho sat in front of the back 4 is so obviously needed but Sarri is too stubborn to do it and it may well cost him his job

    Deffo.

The only thing with this formation is rlc might not get a look in. The guy as number 10 has to be hazard and the 2 either side willian/pedro and hudson

28 years eh? More like vintage 1983 - with that performance it’s just as well they’re not on commission;that being said I had a gut feeling that we would have our rump handed to us on a plate except it was one more goal than my prediction. It feels like the team has put on autopilot: no heart, no leadership and no guts.....planet Europa beckons again if we’re lucky.
