Sorry was just replying to previous post u got nothing better to do? Like maybe get some proper info from your "source" jeeez wat is up with people on here tonight, From now on I will only talk about the chosen subject, sorry if iv ruined your night
? The previous six posts have no mention of Jelavic. I honestly got confused about what you were talking about. Quote a post next time if it's that far back. Especially when you don't name Jelavic. Proper info? I was one of the first to call Jelavic's signing and was confident all along we'd get Long. Not sure where I've been proven wrong with my information?
Fair enough Sydney i don't wanna start bitchin i just wanna talk bout the tigers mate, love this forum and ye shoulda replyed to the post your right
All good, I honestly thought you were on about Long for a second then realised you probably meant Jelavic. I know it came across as being a bit of a prick but I didn't mean to. No harm done.
But it certainly sounds from that article that Bruce believes Long's signing is to all intents and purposes a fait accompli??? Surely an ankle sprain will not cause him to fail the medical. "Bruce is confident Hull City have secured âreal value for moneyâ after a record-breaking week saw £14m spent to lure strike pair Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long to the KC Stadium. After eclipsing the club record fee to sign Jelavic from Everton for a fee that could rise up to £7.5m on Wednesday, the Tigers continued their ambitious recruitment drive by closing out a £6.5m deal to recruit West Brom forward Long." Skysports website: 8:06 We're hearing reports that Shane Long has agreed personal terms with Hull City and passed a medical ahead of completing his move to the KC Stadium. Hull confirmed yesterday that a bid had been accepted by West Brom for Long, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Steve Bruce would think this is value for money, he spent £2.6m on Proschwitz, £12m on Connor bloody Wickham.
The difference this time is we have bought players that we can move on at either a profit or get our money back. The players we had under Duffman where all at the end of their careers in the most part and so could not be moved on, so would say we have learnt our lesson.
Like we where going to move to a new Stadium when the council refused to give him the KC. Yeh right he is going to walk away from £80 million. UTTER BOLLOCKS.
Not true. If we go down then Long and Jelavic ain't been cutting it. Who's going to pay £7m for either off them then? That's double Shane Longs value as it is, and Jelavic might have been worth that 18 months ago, but if he carries on being **** that will be 2 years he'll have been turgid. At the reported wages, 45k and 50k, we'll be back with a Bullard situation whereby we can't even give them away for free to save on the wage bill as no one wants to pay £50k a week for dross. Out of this seasons signings the only 2 we'd make our money back from would be Huddlestone and Davies. We'd then be left with Brady, Aluko and Chester who will be worth a fee, the rest are pretty worthless.
If we go down that's the only issue that would create a problem with wages even with relegation clauses in players contracts. Jelavic and Long signing certainly give us a better opportunity to achieve that. Income from the Prem gives the club ample scope to take on the current wage bill and the signings of Jelavic and Long have probably raised the wage bill by around £2m allowing for the five players that have already left in this window. As for signings we would get our money back on, or more, I would add McGregor to the list and a few more.
a Skysports update 9:34 We are hearing that Shane Long is poised to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal at Hull City later today.
Jesus you need to see a doctor !!! It could also go the other way and everyone of our squad would command a fee
I'd agree with what you're saying, other than you've missed McGregor off the list of players we'd get our money back on, he's worth way more than we paid for him.
I did forget McGregor, he's worth a pretty packet too. Sagbo we could probably get a bit better return on as well. The rest, rosey, figgy, Quinn, Elmo, Meyler, mcshane, Boyd, Bruce... Not going to get a great deal for them. If we went down I don't think we'd recover this seasons outlay if we sold our entire squad.
Looks like Meyler's jumped the gun a bit, the club haven't announced it yet... David Meyler ‏@DavidMeyler7 Welcome to @hullcityteam @Shanelong009 #greatsigning
