Who would I want beside me in the trenches? Probably a Ghurka or a Sikh.
Who would I not want? Probably some daft Yank or an Eytie, maybe a Frog.

Totally agree with this. Ghurka or Sikh for me. Both totally hard and from warrior cultures. Sikh's made up 20% of the British Army in WW1 and something similar in WW2. The Victoria Crosses awarded to Sikh's are proportionally higher than for any other nationality in the British Forces.
Failing that i'd say a Fijian. A friend of mine was in the SAS and served with Fijians in Borneo. He said they were the hardest bastards he'd ever met. If you have ever seen the documentary on the SAS Fort Siege in Oman during the 70's you will know what I mean. The two Fijian's in that unit were immense.
Would choose- *****l
Wouldn't choose- Frenchman
FFS Paddy Mayne started them.Sterling my bollocks.
What are you going on about here?
Do you know anything about the SAS ?
I'm not an expert but I know a bit. I take it from your tone that you know everything.
So please enlighten me regarding my comment. You obviously take issue with it.
Yes I do,your pontificating about fighting forces yet you know **** all about them. Who created the SAS Who was their leader when their OC was captured?
**** you and the high horse you road in on!
Captain Mike Kealy was in command in that fight. Yeah Mayne started the SAS. What the hell has that got to do with anything.
What's the matter chum, pissed off because i'd rather have a Sikh, Gurkha or Fijian watching my back the an Irishman?

Oh go and **** yourself ye stupid ****![]()
"Yeah Mayne started the SAS. "
Are you really that stupid ?
Sir David Stirling was the founder of the SAS. Regardless of that fact why would it even matter if a paddy founded it anyway? I imagine any Irishmen have anything at all to do with them today.
