Black Adder / Phoenix Nights - Rowan Atkinson / Peter Kaye.

I certainly had Fletcher up there, porridge is probably the most underrated comedy. The other one I might have added was Humphrey from yes minister

Sir Humphrey my number one. Best written script, sublime acting.
Alan Partridge
Hyacinth Bucket
Basil Fawlty

OK that's four, didn't know who to leave out. And of course every character in Seinfeld.

As far as sit-com characters are concerned, leaving aside those already mentioned, I have an enduring love for:

(1) Terry & Bob in Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?;

(2) Steptoe & Son;

(3) The entire cast of Dad’s Army, possibly the finest ensemble cast in a sit-com (although Only Fools... evolved beautifully into the same);

(4) Frank Spencer;

(5) Paul Kaye’s Bob Slay in Perfect World (short-lived but very funny);

(6) Rik’s Alan B’Stard; and

(7) Man About The House.

I’m showing my age.

Jeez, almost forgot the very funny Matt Berry as both Steven Toast and Douglas Renholm.

“Yes, I can hear you, Clem Fandango!”

“Goddamn these electric sex-pants!”

The cast of Seinfeld.
The cast is good.
I like good!
How could you not love this show?
There's a lot to love about it!
Right, Cosmo!

Different style obviously (and certainly not to everyone's tastes) but always thought the casts of the Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles were rather inspired.

Some classics above, so something a little bit different....

Father Ted Crilly - Father Ted (classic - could watch that on repeat and still laugh)
Jay, Simon, Will and Neil - The Inbetweeners (reminds me of a lot of the things I got up to as a teenager)
DI Sleet - Murder in Successville (hilarious add libbing by Tom Davis)
