Yes quite often ,we have a huge collection of them in our town museum along with the biggest collection of lifeboats in europe, every fishing town had its own pattern knitted in the gansey ,so if lost at sea the body if found could be linked by the pattern .As in spit, what about Gadget and Ganseys, does anybody say they wear a Gansey these days.
