A lot of comments have the taste of a rough split from a toxic ex about them. It's football, the lad wants to experience other things in life; you only get one shot and it's a short career. Just wish him well and move on ffs

Paul Joyce has just said this stuff about 'new challenges' and whatnot. Not sure I'm having that. La Liga is between two clubs, and given the kip of Real atm he's no better situated for a CL tilt there as he is at Liverpool.

On the contrary, I'd run his legs off so that when he plays in this summer tournament with Real he's knackered. He can barely do four starts on the trot anyway, so let's give them a crock.

All that said... no bitterness - we won the league and NOTHING can take the gloss off this summer. Hope the fans support him for these last three games, and he goes with our respect, but not love. He could have been a legend, but he's in the same category as McManaman, Owen, and Souness now for me. I hope he does well in Spain, but, like Owen, if it doesn't work out for him he shouldn't expect to come back unless it's on a free. No way should we allow his brother to filch another £10m in agency fees out of us as they have done with Madrid. I'd rather see him come back to Chelsea or City.

But I'm not bitter, honest. :bandit:
Take Owen off that list none of the others played for Man Utd he's a whole different category all by himself.

Irrelevant, it's still a different experience that he wishes to pursue. If you want to punt the finger at anyone then point it at the club, they should never allowed it to get to this stage.

He's won everything there is to win with us. Shame that he's not staying, but no hard feelings from me. Frees up some wages as well.

Good luck to him he's been a great servant to the club and has been instrumental in the success we've had over the last decade. We move on.
No thanks

I mean I don't wish him ill will or that he get a horrible injury or anything. But I'm not going to wish him luck, especially since its one of the Spanish two who play the tap up, leak to the press and unsettle game whenever they want something.

Personally I hope he fails and thus in turn Real. I much prefer when one of our ex-players who doesn't leave on the clubs terms find out the grass isn't always greener.

Yeah once he’s gone he’s gone. Hes a rival for Europe in theory, obv wont wish him any harm etc, but much like Bellingham, wont give two craps about how he performs tbh - problem is we’re going to get articles every week showing him and what he’s doing like we do with Kane and Bellingham last year

I don't disagree with the second part of your sentence at all. Think everyone on here knows what I think of FSG, but tbf to Hughes and Edwards, this was a situation they inherited.

As a by-the-by, now we know what Linda was saying to him on the pitch when she was asking when he was going to let the fans know, and in that context, I assume the club is not impressed. But as you say, they should have sold him last summer if they knew this was brewing, and according to all sources from within the club they did, because they all knew his brother is a ****.

If he became a free agent in 4 years, I'd rather not pay his brother's agent's fees. If he became available cut price a-la-Coutinho, I wouldn't pay for him either as, like Owen, we'd resent paying more for what we let go on the cheap or free. So yeah, if he comes back to this country I'd rather it wasn't to us.

It's this simple. He's got one choice after real that won't bring the house down on him.

That is bayern Munich.

His only English options who will pay is city or chelsea. If he tries that the anger will ramp up.massively.

Imo this is a if not when scenario. Real are in a bad state. Thry have no discipline and they have taken on all the issues psg had with lack of work in the forwards.

If you throw in won't track back trent into that he will be absolutely savaged when (not if) barca or atletico hand him his head.

He will be 200% targeted.

It would depend a bit on how much he would be and how good he is at that point, but generally I'd prefer not to see him in a City or Chelsea shirt.

Yamal plays on the left wing. First time Real play Barca, Trent will have to go up against Yamal, he'll get absolutely torn apart. We all saw what Doku, who luckily for Trent has no final ball, did, completely took the piss.
Well Yamal is 10x the player Doku is.

Press will be on him straight away and his confidence will go.
Trent is not Carvajal. Who gets away with it because he's a Madrid boy, who they all accept is an average player trying his hardest. Trent comes with a superstar status and an expectation, who frankly is a bit lazy, gotta perform from day 1.

I agree and don’t agree lol
Those pointing the finger at the club
- he was never going to sign for us - he wanted to go
I have no problem with that at all

I don’t have a major problem with running the contract down (not my favourite thing but it’s a business I get it)

the bit I have the problem with - and it is where players need to learn imho
It’s the kissing the badge

it’s the telling the world he is a local lad and wants to be captain

it’s now proven to have been lies and bullshit - so yes I can understand why a supporter may feel like he has tarnished his reputation.

people called Suarez and Owen but both made it clear from the start that they wanted to play abroad - I think Diaz has done the same

Trent has not done that - he would have been better not saying those things if he didn’t mean them

I understand he may have thought he meant those words when he said them but for me it’s the words that will have hurt his fans

for Me personally I am sort of meh about it
- glad it’s over with
I thank him for his contributions
I wish him no ill will nor do I wish him success

Was zero chance him being sold last summer. One, I doubt he’d have made his mind up yet he was def going but can you imagine if slot comes in, loses his vice captain and suddenly only has Bradley and Gomez at right back.

Salah and vvd still not signed up, suddenly slot gets off to an ok start but nothing crazy, the fans unsure, we’re now fighting for 4th and Salah and vvd see it as an end of an era and think best to move on.

now doesn’t mean that would have happened but vvd and salah were the key players to keep and selling TAA in summer feels to me like it would have weakened our position in negotiating with them and convince them to stay.

Yamal plays on the right, cuts in on his left foot. Raphina generally plays lw for Barca
