Trent has finally admitted he is gone.

The ego on him to talk about his 2 time premier league winner as a nice way to sign off to go off to bigger and better things (even though he tried to make out thst wasn't it)

    It's all about me baby.

Depends who the new Real manager is, but I can't see it going well for him in Spain. Real are a defensive mess atm and Trent isn't going to help that.

Really they want him to justify Mbappe, get him lobbing long balls over the top for KM to run onto, like Salah.

Look on the bright side anytime we play real again, we know where to target. Silver lining.

Probably lost a fair bit of creditablity by not signing and giving some £££ to replace him with but that's also down to recruitment teams .(I'm reading he was offered a substantial contract but who knows for sure)

I imagine there was a bit of complacency there, as nobody was really expecting him to leave until all the rumours started earlier in the season. They probably thought a new contract would be a formality and that he would stay and become club captain one day.

Good luck to him he's been a great servant to the club and has been instrumental in the success we've had over the last decade. We move on.

Not like wasn’t coming but sad how it’s ended.

You’d hope that Bradley gets 269 minutes for the remaining 3 games and TAA can come on for the final minute against palace.

I'd not even put him in the squad bar the fact that it was clearly known yesterday and slot still started him.

    We knew it all along.

Slots choice of Gravenberch in the 6 means we've already moved away from relying on him to play an inverted full back role. We just need a capable RB to replace him and challenge bradley.

I think Bradley's injuries this season are probably making Slot cautious with him. Happy to have TAA playing before he leaves but Bradley should get time if fully fit.

So the club's legendary right back remains Phil Neal.

No surprise that he is off. I can’t say I am happy he is going but nobody is bigger than the club and we move on. Arne Slot stated after yesterday’s game that the squad was good enough, I needed a good laugh after that result. Our first eleven when fit are good enough but the rest of the squad are far from good enough.

    Don't forget stevie nicol.

Player of the year as a full back which benedict will never do.

1989 was real tough on him

A hard question to slot and he has to say that but.

    But.

His actions must speak for themselves now.

Tommy Smith as well but he blotted his copy book with his biography. Phil Neal still number one.

    100% this.

I've repeatedly said it, if Salah or VVD had chosen to move on, we'd have given them a big, appreciative, good luck send off. Trent did just add much as that pair over the last few years and shouldn't be treated differently because he's younger and/or a local lad.

On the contrary, I'd run his legs off so that when he plays in this summer tournament with Real he's knackered. He can barely do four starts on the trot anyway, so let's give them a crock.

All that said... no bitterness - we won the league and NOTHING can take the gloss off this summer. Hope the fans support him for these last three games, and he goes with our respect, but not love. He could have been a legend, but he's in the same category as McManaman, Owen, and Souness now for me. I hope he does well in Spain, but, like Owen, if it doesn't work out for him he shouldn't expect to come back unless it's on a free. No way should we allow his brother to filch another £10m in agency fees out of us as they have done with Madrid. I'd rather see him come back to Chelsea or City.

But I'm not bitter, honest. :bandit:

A lot of comments have the taste of a rough split from a toxic ex about them. It's football, the lad wants to experience other things in life; you only get one shot and it's a short career. Just wish him well and move on ffs
