Between this coming Tuesday evening and January 1st we have 9 matches (7 league games) to play in 35 days. Because of International breaks, Charlton played 7 matches (4 league games) in the previous 35 days, Our "league" team (strongest XI) has had a pretty easy time since late October - About one game every 9 days on average. From now on that changes to one game every 5 days on average. For the rest of 2017 Karl Robinson's squad is going to be put under more pressure than it has known all season so far. We are in a good position - but to stay there we will need a fair bit of luck when it comes to key players remaining fit. Josh Magennis has been struggling for form of late, and Billy Clarke has definitely been missed. And that's without even mentioning our lack of decent back-up strikers, which was well known to all fans before the season began but not addressed by the Club. Personally I don't expect Ben Reeves to play anything more than a few cameo roles for the rest of this year. Perhaps he can influence our season more next year, if he can get fit and stay fit. That seems like a big 'if' right now.
Reeves has pulled his hamstring. It did it while bending over to pick up his wage packet. He is out next Tuesday as well. Poor signing, especially when you have to bring 17 year old strikers off the bench.
Reeves Missing In Inaction again today -looks a more shocking signing by the week If he can’t get himself fit for Portsmouth next week the Club should release him
We do still have 27 League games to play, and we have to win at least half of those if we want to claim an automatic promotion place. I'll admit though I am getting tired of waiting for Ben Reeves to contribute something. After all the hysterics on another forum about him and the ridiculous wait we had to endure while he tried to get a better deal somewhere else and didn't even bother to keep himself fit, BR has been a massive anti-climax. Must also admit I don't want to see him starting against Portsmouth. We will need 11 fully committed and aggressive players for that game. No room for lightweights who can't cut it. Play him in a few lower-key games against crap teams, and see if he can impress. If not, forget about him.
I think it's more a case of 'Let's see where he is in June If we don't go up, can't see him staying with us. Make you right FHB, he didn't seem to be that enthusiastic about joining us.
Meire poodle Rich Cawley has Tweeted that we are looking at MK Dons veteran Dean Lewington - Robinson must have a fetish for ginger mingers from his old club
It is good to see Ben Reeves is now fit enough to be paralytic on a train last night after the Portsmouth defeat. Looking at the video, Reeves seems to be celebrating something? Perhaps he has just opened his pay slip and is incredulous.
