Does anyone else get the feeling that by the time the Spammers comes around the hype is going to be so huge that no matter what happens it's going to be disappointing?

I'm not gonna lie, that video is a thing of outstanding beauty, even the words in the song rang true 'everything changes', because I honestly feel that with this signing everything has changed for City. I seriously cannot wait to see HBA tearing opposition midfielders and defenders a new arsehole whilst wearing the famous black & amber. The way he slices through the opposition midfield is incredible, it reminded me of THAT goal by Maradona, no not THAT one, the other one. The ease at which he stops on a sixpence and leaves the opposition for dead, in the same way as he does with his sudden change of pace, is nothing short of fooking amazing!

I'm glad I watched it but it's made me hate international breaks even more, I want to see him, and I want to see him now!

Just one thing, is it wrong to feel such great manlove before he's even kicked a ball for us? I know it's probably wrong but I just can't help myself!

My hockey team has 2 channels that show our games live. One channel of ours shows the game in a regular manner and the 2nd channel has the "ovechcam" and it follows ovechkin around the ice no matter where the puck is (It's completely stupid) or what is happening during the game. If ovechkin is sitting on the bench you get to watch him sit on the bench. How soon before we get the "Arfacam"?

Got the same with some Aussie Rules games over the last few years. Would be great. I mentioned earlier I think, there's a youtube channel which shows all his touches in most of the games from the last two years, gives a much better sense of his style of play than flashy highlight vids.

On Newcastle-Online, he's on his 3rd or 4th thread. Threads are locked at 1000 pages. Most of that was manlove, still is. :-(
The madness on there the day he arrived (without permission, just got on plane) is still the funniest episode I've read on any message board.
It's f**ing maddening that I've just watched 16 minutes of attacking football from a player they'd have you believe that at the time he was doing all that - last season - he was disruptive, lazy, lost the ball too much, offered little threat and was disliked by team-mates. To be fair there was a marginal drop in end product, but I think taken in context of the way he was handled by laughing boy among other reasons, there would be. /rant.

Anyhoo, nice to see these vids of his dribbling ability are giving you the truth of the matter - but there's another sharp tool in the box...
He's pretty handy from 30 yards too, both feet. Not placed curlers either, proper arrow straight thunderbastards.

For what it's worth, I'd love to see him on the right of a front three, not that he couldn't make an impact behind a lone striker, he's just unplayable coming from wide in an attacking line up. Would that be a Brucey thing?

It has been widely acknowledged that Steve Bruce was Freddy Shepherd’s first choice to replace Sir Bobby Robson back in 2004 but Bruce claimed he couldn’t let Birmingham down, where he was manager at the time.

With the Shepherd family and associates acting as Hatem Ben Arfa’s agents, it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that there is still friendly contact between the likes of Shepherd and Bruce, which could have provided a connection to make the deal go smoothly. Getting player, manager and owner out of a dilemma.

With the background of Mike Ashley supposedly assuming control of Newcastle United while Freddy Shepherd was indisposed on his sickbed, it does make for some interesting possible conversations if you could have been a fly on the wall as the deal for Hatem was hammered out, taking into account the total mess that Ashley & Pardew have presided over with the Hatem Ben Arfa fiasco.

I'm unsure whether that means my manlove feelings are appropriate/dirty or not <laugh>

I'd also love to see him on the right of a three, but that leaves me wondering who else Brucey would play on the right, behind him, Elmo or Rosie. Elmo certainly has the more attacking threat but we probably wouldn't need it with Benny up there, whereas I think all would agree that Rosie is the better defender. The dilemma is that Brucey has tended to favour Elmo and is unlikely to drop him, probably with good reason as he has often been a matchwinner for us, but I think playing Benny & Elmo on the right together would, at times, leave a gaping hole in our right back area.

Finally can I say that I'm LOVING the sound of 'proper straight arrow thunderbastards' <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Back on the day, a German documentary film maker followed George Best in his pomp, during a game against Coventry. Lasts 1 hour and 40 minutes but it's here if anyone's interested.
