The documentary "Being AP" had it's first public screening at the Toronto Film Festival yesterday. One of just 400 documentaries selected to be shown (from 60,000 submissions) the 95 minute film will be released in UK cinemas on 27th November, followed by a DVD release the following week. The film will air on the BBC in 2017.
The film follows AP's final season in the saddle, though when filming started AP had yet to decide to retire. There is a review of the film in today's Racing Post, which will hopefully appear online later today. The review states that racing fans will probably learn little new about the man himself, but it is a fascinating story and gives great "behind the scenes" access, including many tough discussions between AP and Chanelle.
Interview with the Director.
