Just checked the list of pubs again and the answer is probably no. If you tried that you wouldn't make it to day two!!

I know someone who managed it a couple of years ago and just had a half in each one, but there weren't as many pubs taking part in those days!!! <cheers>

Two years ago there were 48 pubs involved, some friends and I trailblazed our way around in two days. Day one we got around 28 so sunday was cushty. We had at least a half in each, with the odd pint here and there, like with the BBQ they had at the Fatcat and Canary. Bloomin great way to spend the Bankholiday weekend. I'm going for it again this year, can't wait! <cheers>

Bah!

Can I nominate a superb ale which is also now available at all good stores. Doom Bar - well worth a go IMO

It is a good beer, my local now stocks; Everards Tiger, Sharp's Doombar and better still as of this week Adnams Ghostship! There is also a guest ale each week currently Bombardier Burning Gold, next week according to the landlord it'll be Oakham's JHB. It's small wonder the dog keeps dragging me in!

Bah!

Sharp's are now owned by Molson Coors. Isn't Doom Bar the UK's best selling cask ale at the moment?

Was my staple pint when I lived down in Bristol.
It's certainly a reliable go-to around these parts, available in most places. More a fan of Bath Ales' Gem and St Austell's Tribute when on.

See, I always found those two a bit too hoppy for my taste. Each to their own though.

OK, OK - I know Wetherspoons is not everyone's favourite pub, but they've got a 'beer festival' on just now with several guest ales at £2.75 a pint. <cheers>

I had a perfectly cooked 'Rare" steak in there a while back, not many places know how to do that!
Usually go to the Queen of Iceni for steak and chips when we've got a Tuesday game!! Mind you, the 2 steaks and a bottle of wine is now £19.50 - rip off <laugh>

I didn't realise that Doom Bar was so widespread and under the umbrella of one of the big guys, the stuf you learn on here! O.K, another one that I would like to nominate is Wainwrights Ale (named after he famous walker) - any comments on that one?

I had one of those last summer I remember liking it but the finer points of why I liked it escape me!

Bah!
