Had a cat put down a few years ago. He was 23 and lived with me my whole life. It certainly does suck.

Great knock, to be fair. My first pet was a cat who lived to 19 (was a few years old when I was born) and I loved him. Since then I've had a couple of dogs die on me and it's always heartbreaking. I dread the day when my current dogs will go :(

FLT, get the rabbit fixed, all this talk of pets is getting me emotional.

I'm so far down the line now with costs to date, that it would be a waste of investment so far.... fingers cross the second op works.

My dog who's been in the family for over 15 years has been not great health-wise recently. We've had to have her put down today.

Devastated does not come even close to how I feel right now.

Now your bowl is empty
And your feet are cold
And your body cannot stop rocking
I know It hurts to let go

Since the day we found you
You have been our friend
And your voice still echoes in the hallways of this house
But now It's the end

We will be with you
When you're leaving
We will be with you
When you go
We will be with you
And hold you till you're quiet
It hurts to let you go
We will be with you
You will stay with us

Sorry to hear that Pl. Treasure the memories.

Ok, 5 minutes into the first Anchorman and I'm already thinking why the **** haven't I seen this yet?

Thanks for the sympathy everyone, it's really appreciated. It's just heartbreaking knowing I'll never see her again or have her lick me in affection or have her curled up on my lap while watching junk on TV. I miss her so much. Pet's eh? With the pain they cause when they die you may wonder is it worth it? But the answer is always yes for the love and affection and memories they provide while they're alive.

I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany (I don't wanna spoil it, so I can only quote a line from a part of the time that you'll have already seen)

On the subject of the rabbit fixing, you could have it mate with the other (assuming they're not related and different genders!) and sell the offspring for money to go towards the fixing, but it can't be too late. My dad waited ages to get his cat fixed and she turned into a right bitch! <laugh>
