Nice moment at work yesterday. I've been gently winding up my Liverpool-supporting colleagues all week and yesterday once of the touchier guys responded to something I said with "Yeah, well we we're still above you in the league aren't we? Let's see where we finish the season shall we?"

A Liverpool fan pleased his club are above Southampton? Good times! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Nothing to do with our present situation, but I can almost find room to feel a little sorry for Liverpool fans. Their club pretty much dominated the 70s and 80s, and then helped vote in the Premier League, where it all went wrong for them, because they simply didn't have enough money to chuck at the problem of consistently winning things. Mind you, the odd European Cup is not to be sniffed at. Bet they'd trade them for Premier League titles though.

Don't feel sorry for them. Don't feel sorry for anyone who lives on the south coast and supports Liverpool, or Man U. They always give the excuse "I support them because my dad supported them". Yeah? Well he was a glory hunter too. I realise this may sound a bit rich coming from someone who doesn't suport their home club, but the club their dad supported, but I don't think you can accuse Saints fans of being glory hunters. Maybe in a few years!

What, you don't think that hordes of glory hunters jumped on the bandwagon after the JPT triumph?

We might pick up a few extra fans after we win the Champions League ;)

I know two people my age who support Blackburn. No relations from the City, it's just that when they were school boys picking what team to support, Blackburn had Sutton and Shearer and won the PL.
