This morning, before I went to work, I decided to rev up my day by spending half an hour playing Pro Evo 4 in League Mode. With difficulty set to ****** as always, on maximum time, and bearing in mind that with my recently built, aap3 kitted out, squad of Saints current players [did you know that Hooiveld and a couple of them existed in Pro Evo 4 back then..?] have been trouncing everybody, left, right and centre [James Ward-Prowse and Steven Davis are sooo good], I found that my next game was against Pompey, with Quashie, Stone, Hislop, and all our annoying favourites. Here they were, lined up for a good tonking. The outcome was that I struggled to beat them 2-1, with my lads being uncharacteristically sh!t. I think the Pro-Evo fix was most definitely trying to be in there. It was only when I properly concentrated that I got the better of them. I think I even raged at the screen at one point, something like... come on, they're supposed to be crap, clearly forgetting that I was in charge.

Woke me up though. :)

Pro Evo 4, happy memories. I'm suprised at the modest score line though. If your central with a player with a half decent shot, and you have room to run onto the ball, you can smash them in from the halfway line!

I only really played it with Classics or on Master League though, so the player stats were through the roof.

I've never been able to smash them in from the half-way line or thereabouts. I'm sure it's a myth. I also hate the way that opposing team players who are dwarves can out jump my lads. So I tend to play a certain way, keeping it on the ground, passing style. It tends to result in something which actually resembles real football. Plus, it's more enjoyable. Except this morning, which was a struggle.
 
BTW, I used to play in Master League mode all the time too. Chose to play in League mode after all these years, because it was a quicker way of getting into the game and for playing against English teams. Makes you chuckle when teams like Pompey come up though.

Rockstar have warned people not to buy cars. As there is a glitches that make garages eat them. (Basically making them disappear and not come back)

Didn't know that he was..? I always used to play as Saints, whatever mode I was in, and was never interested in other clubs or players. My present day attitude to football was had well and truly kicked in well before then. My only interest was to tonk the living daylights out of the opposition. The bigger the reputation and better for real they were, the more satisfying it was. If I made the glamour teams look stupid, that was the icing on the cake.
 
That work radio was set to talkSport again today. Lawrie appeared, talking about times past. Couldn't help but be slightly bitter in his message, talking about the club forgetting the past. Personally, I don't think the club forgets or ignores the past at all. The personnel just see past successes for what they are - in the past and before this era. And some of the past I don't want to remember. The future successes are being concentrated on. Anyway, he had other good things to say about the present squad and other matters.

But that's not the point I was going to make. It's just that Hawksbee & Jacobs like our translator, David Salas. They love the way he pops up on MOTD. I think they should get a subscription and find out all the other antics he gets up to. Saints could easily be their second team, just for liking our translator. :)

I tonned my BMW for the first time today, on that bit between Newbury and Winch.

(If there's any police reading this, I am, of course, talking about kph not mph.<whistle>)
