PompeyLapras,

record the NHS nurses, as they might well become a thing of the past following these NHS "reforms" this government is introducing!

Ha, I was slated at the time for not thinking it was very good. Far too pompous, which I suppose is the point, but regardless I certainly wasn't moved like most people.

One thing I really, really despise 100% of the time is interpretive dance.

At least China had like, cool ****. People say it wasn't as meaningful and rubbish like that but I'd take cool **** over interpretive dance every day.

I also found it rubbish so I turned it off, very much over hyped.

I couldn't bring myself to turn it off because of the hope it would get better and a sense of obligation, but **** watching it again.

But is that not what the rest of the world want to see and imagine Britain to be like (another reason that the monarchy are so popular). They love the idea of a stereotypical quaint, archaic pomp and circumstance British event.

Myself and the wife was so pissed off with the crap ceremony, we ended up looking at holidays online and booked up there and then....much better than watching that cheese.

Yeah, like I said, I suppose that was the point. Didn't factor into how much I enjoyed it personally. The idea of the whole thing attempting to play up to a stereotype doesn't make it better!

Like I said the old German guy at the bar was eating it up, but I don't think everyone was as impressed. The rest of Croatia didn't seem to give much of a ****. I'm really glad I wasn't in the country for it actually because I'd have been surrounded by people who love that sort of a show. Basically we like to build ourselves up and show everyone how impressive we are, but very few people abroad actually care. The Americans like our royals and Germany has a surprising amount of Anglophiles but that's about it.
