Just saw this table for Grass Court win % for Murray, he's sitting amongst some fairly illustrious company.

Amusing when he forgot her and had to go back. Wimbledon Champion or not....never forget your Mum!

I just wish my mum had been around to see this. She loved her tennis. I don't know if she'd have been more pleased with Murray's win, or the Wimbledon colours, matching tie and blazer set Cliff Richard wore last week. Now that would have had her excited!

If he wins Wimbledon and Queens again next year he'll be above everyone except Federer. He'll probably also be no. 1 in the rankings by then anyway. Not bad eh?

Very hard to climb the rankings. Its a complicated business based on how you did last time. His next tournament is the US Open. As he won last time, he can only lose points at that event. Djokovic gained points at Wimbledon because he was only a semi-finalist last year, whereas Andy had to win to gain any points as he was a finalist last year. Andy said himself on Sky this morning that he is a long way off number 1 and it will be very hard for him to close the gap on Djokovic.

Oh I misunderstood. I saw this on BBC website and thought it meant he had become world number 1:

On becoming world number one: "It's tough - you have to be consistent throughout all year. I've won the Olympics, the US Open, finished runner-up in the Australian Open and now won Wimbledon in the last year - and I'm still nowhere near. The goal for me is to win another Grand Slam and not worry to much about rankings."

Very misleading! I didn't read the paragraph properly and only saw the first bit.

Just watched Swans press conference pre-ashes. I had not realised how much his side profile makes him look like Matt Le Tissier. Nose, mouth and chin.
