I've been to Turkey twice and it's a very nice country with a huge amount of history from the Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman period, including the remains of one of the seven wonders of the world. Seriously, if you like ancient history, Turkey is a must, especially Ephesus. The scenery is also amazing (at least near the coast where I've been) and I've seen some pretty spectacular sunsets. It's also pretty secular and they're open towards Western attitudes and dress from what I can remember. I mean, of course you'd have to cover yourself if you visit a mosque but you shouldn't let the idea that it's intolerant and anti-Western culture affect your view of the country. It's no Saudi Arabia. Though now would probably not be the best time to go.

Steve Cropper was the first white person to tour with a black band in the US in those Stax tours, he was the lead guitarist for Booker T and the MG's. He was also in the Blues Brothers movie.

Amen to that. I'm not the biggest holiday goer.

I've been to: France (twice), Spain (a few times), Greece and Turkey.

I'd say Turkey was my favourite.

One of the worse places you can go if you're a woman is Portugal. Me and the ex went there and they hate English women. Portuguese men see them as easy sluts, while Portuguese women see them as skanky trash that are lower then tramps. The way Portuguese women talk to English women is a disgrace.

I'm not sure what my favourite is. My favourite people are definitely the Turks. The most amazing place I've been is probably Crete though.

Been to Portugal, America x2, Jamaica, Grenada, Italy, Canada, Ireland and Turkey. Best place probably Grenada, so relaxing there and the beaches are amazing.

Yes! Yes! Yes! There is the most amazing beach there. But I have to admit the most amazing place I have been to is the Grand Canyon.

I've been to a few crappy islands (mostly Canary or Balearic), Cyprus, and a couple of times to France. Not really a holiday goer.

Jesus that's a lot of times. I've been twice and would like to go once more. Getting assaulted by flying fish in Greece is one of my most hilarious memories.

I've been to Shanghai, Beijing and the Great Wall in China. San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Grand Canyon and Florida in the USA. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Crete and Kefolonia in Greece. Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Cycled through northern France to Paris. Gothenburg and Lund in Sweden. Quebec and Montreal in Canada and finally Perth, Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, Great Barrier Reef, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne in Australia. Not bad for 22 :) lucky me. Quebec/Montreal over Christmas was my best holiday so far :) China was a massive learning experience, fascinating!
