<laugh> what a glowing review Tom! What are/did you study?

I'm in my third year studying Environmental Hazards and Disaster Management. The course I'm studying is only available at 3 Uni's - Kingston, Coventry and Northumberland. I dismissed Northumberland instantly (how could I live so far away from St Mary's!!!!!) I chose Kingston because it was the nearest to Southampton and near to central London. And Kingston Uni is ****ing brilliant at selling the course. But that's all they're good at.

Kingston must be good for rare courses, it's one of about 3 Universities that offers my preferred course (politics + english lit and creative writing). I'm not really fussed about how far away I live from home so that opens up a lot more options for me I guess.

Sounds like an interesting course though.

Not as interesting as it sounds. For example, I had to study 2 human geography modules in my 2nd year. I mean, if I wanted to study human geography I would have chosen human ****ing geography as my course.

Birmingham is a massive ****hole. I'm sure there are nice parts of it, there's nice parts to every area, but man.

Also am I alone in never tipping a pizza guy?

I've tipped a pizza guy once, and that was because we kept him waiting outside for like 20 minutes.

Yeah, and Birmingham's pretty ****. Doesn't seem particularly rough, just boring.

However, there are some good things about the course. I've always been interested in natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanoes etc. There are a fair few modules about these that I have enjoyed. And also in a module this year we've had some good guest speakers from the RNLI, LAS, LFB and have learnt a lot about how they deal with incidents such as terrorism, massive explosions etc (obviously not RNLI).

Loughborough Uni has some great courses, but the boy to girl ratio is shocking, there's not much to do in the town and the locals are ****ed up. You are pretty close to three decent sized cities in Leicester, Derby and Nottingham, and it does have great transport links to London, not that I've been there yet.

Oh yes that's a big bonus about Kingston, there's loads of fit girls at the uni and on my course. :1980_boogie_down:

We do have some Art and Social Science courses here, so there is a nice stream of fit girls coming in to counter all the Engineering courses, like the one I'm on :p It's finding the girls who don't have boyfriends that's the problem <laugh>

I went to Plymouth Uni. It was great because although it's a campus Uni its in the City Centre, and the other side of the City Centre (like 5-10 minutes walk) is The Hoe...which is the seafront area where the lighthouse is. Although there is a lack of beach right on The Hoe there are beaches nearby to Plymouth. At one end of the Hoe you have The Barbican which is full of little pub restaurants and the National Aquarium. It's next door to Cornwall and Dartmoor. Exeter is about 45 minutes away. I loved it there, but it is a small city which is probably a draw back for many people.
