He'll forever be remembered at United as part of the illustrious class of '99 and an absolutely fantastic captain of his country, in terms of passion and dedication.
He might be hated by many, and many begrudge him of his achievements saying he's been carried by better players along the way. In '99 David Beckham has the unenvied task of stepping into the boots of suspended captain Roy Keane, alongside Nicky Butt who was no replacement for the suspended Paul Scholes, making Beckham's job even harder. He provided both corners which led to both goals in the dying minutes, a player who learned his lesson after every mistake and made it count. He might have been blessed with an abundance of talented team mates throughout his career but at United, he was definitely considered a driving force behind our most successful ever season. By age 24 he'd won everything at club level, Gareth Bale turns 24 in two months without a single medal, yet is regarded amongst many as one of the very best in the world. This isn't a snipe at Spurs I actually believe he is as well (and will go on to win a lot of medals), but credit where credit is due, and Beckham deserves all the credit for his achievements, John Terry he is not.
