just want to say..... listen to the commentator here.... this guy is apologising for scholes. for YEARS scheoles was minded and let away with murder for utd in england and i am strongly of the opinion the only time he ever got done was in europe where refs treated him like anyone else.

Look at his record of reds. a lot in europe compared to england but the amount of terrible dirty fouls we've seen him do.....

Pretty much MITO. Nasty tackles were portrayed as "he can't tackle" when he clearly set out to do the player. Swung a punch at Riise too. Portrayed as "nothing".

And after he retired Uefa made Lord Buckfast one of their representatives.<laugh>

On the Salford page
What we learnt in the January transfer window. - No "?" Should be "learned"?. No "have"

<laugh>
You should learn them to talk proper, Sis.

You are right both are acceptable in a test say, but otherwise it is relative. I prefer one or the other depending on how it sounds in the sentence. "What we learnt", "what have we learned" but not "what have we learnt" tbh.

Learnt is acceptable as the past tense and past participle in British English. No need for "have" as the simple past is acceptable in a single verb sentence.

You're welcome <ok>

Straight from the first link on google, well done<laugh> Half a credit for being able to use google.

Gives English lessons
Says "You're welcome" without being thanked first <whistle>

I dislike "you're welcome" as a response to "thank you" btw. Not that I thanked you. :D

The properly constructed sentence for me would have been. "What we have learned from the January transfer window" imo. I like "learned" beause of the dual use as an adjective my learned fellow. <laugh>

Poor effort. The beeb claimed we were in the CL knockout stages last night and not one of you clocked it.

Good to know.

It'd be a pretty poor state of affairs if the football thread with the second most replies on your front page was about Man Utd related conspiracies <ok>

Imagine if we had 2 threads on our front page with the name of our rivals in the title <yikes>
