Don't want to see Ingram dropped for the error, but I have to admit I'd be intrigued to see what, if any difference Baxter could make in terms of distribution. I'm not so sure it'll help bridge that gap between the back line and the midfield, but we'll likely get to find out at some point.

I’m no fan of expected goals, but interestingly our expected goals against this season is 9.8, we’ve conceded 15. That’s the biggest negative differential in the league. Time to get Baxter in

It’s not that simple though. We’ve played top end sides with quality strikers. Lots of very tidy long distance finishes, and none that could be pinned on Ingram apart from the McBurnie goal.
That difference between expected and actual will drop after the run of forthcoming fixtures against more limited aides, I reckon.
Having said that, I wouldn’t be against bringing Baxter in on Saturday. I personally think he is a better all round keeper, marginally, and experience from last season is that the back four/five seems more comfortable with him behind them.
People were posting last season that our defence seemed more comfortable with Baxter in goal, but having said that he did have a few 'odd' moments towards the end, errors of judgement in the main. I wouldn't like to say who is best but maybe just in terms of squad rotation Baxter might get a go soon?
Think there isn’t much to choose. Each is better at somethings than the other. I do feel that Baxter is better at setting things up quicker than Ingram who seems to give time for the opposition to reorganise itself on too many occasions. I would, on balance, because I don’t think Ingram deserves dropping, give Baxter a go and say it was rotation, to see if it improves our speed in countering.

What I, or you or many others, expect to be goals may differ greatly to those compiling the stats. How did we manage discussing games and performances in the pub before all these things.
I'd be tempted to give Baxter a game, the defence generally looked more comfortable playing in front of him and we currently have an issue with playing out from the back and Baxter's far better at getting the ball out.
Ingram has done very well but goal keeping isn't just about shots saved. I think there's very little between the two on that aspect but Baxter does seem to have better command of the area, communicates well with the defenders, is more confident when coming for crosses and is more positive on the ball (quicker and more accurate with his clearances). So, for me it has to be Baxter.
All the ones clambering for Baxter because Ingrams made one mistake.... Will you be saying Ingram comes straight back in the second Baxter makes a mistake? Or does that only happen one way?

I've said I'd be tempted to give Baxter a start, but it has nothing to do with Ingram's error on Sunday.

He didn’t seem to communicate much with the defence especially in the first half. He was trying to play the goal kicks short to one of the back 3 but changed his mind a few times when the defenders by body language didn’t want to receive it resulting in him kicking it long. The four of them seemed to be on different wavelengths causing insecurity and lack of confidence. No one took control.
A fair summation in my book. No disrespect to Ingram but maybe time to try something different.
Yes we did improve. Its not just about the one mistake, we do let less in when baxter plays

I don't think it's because of one possible mistake - many of the points raised have already been aired in previous discussions and a common theme has been the undeniable consensus that Ingram has done a good job both last season and this. However, there is a school of thought that quite a few of us are aligned with which sees Baxter as being the better all round keeper and that he would have a positive effect on our (currently) rather nervous defence.
This guy knows what he is talking about, the best I played with
. I agree, on balance, Baxter looks the better all-around keeper, but there is not a lot between them.
