Stating the obvious, but it's impossible to understand the way Ashley's mind works. Give or take, over the course of our Championship winning season he got a lot of fans back onside with sensible managment of the club, sorting out the finances and keeping a squad together that was able to romp to the Championship title with ease. All is good. Then fast forward, we've got a quality spine to the side (Enrique, Colo, Tiote, Nolan & Barton) that have all performed well this season and got us a position in the league that we'd all be overjoyed with if offered at the start of the season. However squad moral is now taking a battering as nobody knows that the owner is doing, who's staying, who's going, players that have performed and deserved a new contract not getting one and Ashley seemingle intent on asset stripping. Add to that the sacking of Hughton and the Carroll saga and he's managing the club again in the way that got us relegated just when the future was looking bright. I just hope that the whole Barton contract saga is just agents playing games and he gets a new one, we sign 3/4 good players in the summer and at worst lose Enrique. If we can keep this group together and add to it there's no reason we can't be top 8 next season and I hope Ashley can see that.
