would it not just need to be his agent in the talks anyway?

i've just got an image of barton sitting outside the meeting room playing snake on his phone and posting the occasional tweet like a naughty school boy outside of the head masters office while his dad has a word with the principle.

You must have watched a different Joey Barton to me. Performances have been first class generally and his first two league games this season have been excellent. His performance against Arsenal was terrific. He should stay away from dead balls mind.

oh please theres people picking each otherby the scruff of the neck every week, phil bardley damn near amputated colos leg and gervinho 'punched' barton ;)
 
joey said hes not leaving unless he was offered champions league football, but im sure any type of european football would be attractive to him. if he moves to QPR i will lose all of my respect for him, in my opinion it would prove that he is just after the biggest paycheck.

i wouldnt mind if joey moved to QPR if he had kept his mouth shut beforehand, the fact hes pledged his loyality to us so many times and said he would only ever conisder leaving for champions league means that many expected him to see out his contract here, if he leaves to qpr because they can offer a bigger wage than us it will leave a very sour taste.
 
I suppose if he does go it shows he's just after the money anyway, and had been lying to us about staying. Wouldnt want a player like that if it was true.

<ok> This! I really arent fussed if he does go. Because if he does. It will show the man is full of ****. And I dont want people like that at the club.


Tash, quick question. If Barton leaves, will you hate him?
 
Wouldn't surprise me if it was a plan by his agent to make Newcastle decide either way.
 
Few things wrong with this:

1). He's openly said he would only CONSIDER leaving for CL football.

2). He's openly said he only wants to play at the highest level.

3). He's on £60k per week here and QPR seem skint (or just unwilling to spend any cash), all they've brought in are cheapies and freebies.

4). He said he wants to stay here

Almost certainly bullshit, but I suppose time will tell. If he does leave for QPR, then we know that everything he's said about his ambitions and the club are all a load of crap.
