Not sure about this and I’m quite surprised. We’ve got a terrible injury list and we haven’t been playing that bad, but with the LT situation and Barton not being everyone’s cup of tea I can see why AlSaeed has done this. That 7-0 will last long in the memory and he’s left us with a strong squad so I wish him well. We’ll see how ambitious the owner is with his first, imminent hopefully, managerial appointment.
was on the cards, winners only allowed the supporters say Please do not hurry for another manager and make sure they look properly. The problem will be a good prospective manager wanting to come here. Patrick Viera would be my choice
There’s a thread on our board about this - my own opinion is that he should never have been able to work again in football after the cigar-in-the-eye incident let alone his other altercations. I’m not just saying this because of our rivalry. I’d hate it if someone like that came to manage us and I’d boycott us like CJS did Rovers. You can go back and support your team with a clear conscience now CJS
Reports in the Sun that JB called Steve Evans a fat man and a weeble Guess that didn't help his cause
Now Nigel Pearson has joined Joey on the dole. Two mid table Bristol sides sacking their managers in the same week!! Both sackings a bit harsh in my opinion but then again, both managers are very marmite and rather difficult characters.
Somebody mentioned the name Robbie Fowler yesterday as a possible replacement for JB but it was pointed out that he was in Saudi Arabia, he was sacked today despite his side being un beaten and top of the league and winning manager of the month last month
Garry Monk 2/1 followed by Ian Holloway and Neil Harris 5/1 Steve Cotterell 8/1 and Danny Cowley, Andy Mangan, Karl Robinson, John Eustace and Stephen Clements all 12/1, Nathan Jones 14/1and Dean Holden 16/1 The above curtesy of Bristol Live Just seen an article in the Sun Headed gone for a Barton, Joey Barton is a playground bully who shouldn't get back in the game after Bristol Rovers sacking
Not a great choice is it? Monk rarely lasts longer than a year at any club, Harris has just been sacked by L2 Gills, Nathan Jones is mad and Holden absolutely not - it would be like having Garner back. I guess my choice would be Cowley out of that lot. I like Eustace but he’d be looking for Championship employment.
Monk or Ollie apparently. Monk doesn't fit the description of what our board want (someone with experience of promotion from L1) and Ollie done nothing for years. Last job was getting Grimsby relegated.
Poll taken by Bristol Live is showing the following vote at present Steve Cotterell 2%, Dean Holden 2%, Garry Monk 26%, Neil Harris 3%, Danny Cowley 7%, Andy Mangan 10%, Garteth Ainsworth 5%, Karl Robinson 7%,Nathan Jones 10% John Eustace 16% others10% Eustace, Mangan, Monk would be my choice in that order and if Cotterell gets it I would seriously consider not getting my season ticket while he was in charge
Excuse me for popping in but why the hatred for Cotts? He is really good at L1 level and could even have you lot knocking on the door of the Championship? Is it because he managed us?
Congratulations getting rid of that nasty piece of work. Hope you get a good replacement and good luck for the rest of the season
Danny Cowley has just about-turned on his decision to take the Bradford job. Perhaps he's looking for something in League One and in the West Country?
The reason that most people don't want Cotterell was that when he was your manager the last he slagged off our club and it's supporters
After calling us "rag bag Rovers", I can't see him being welcomed. After having a controversial manager in Joey Baton who split the fan base, I don't think we should do the same so soon.
