He got punched.... hardly call that battered.
Just sounded like a good punch line

Now I wasn't there, and neither were you so we both don't know what happened.
But what really makes me think he may have deserved his slap is the fact that, at this moment in time, he doesn't want to press charges?
Why?
Just consider this,
If you were completely innocent and enjoying a night out with the Mrs (or Mr- whatever floats your boat?) and the two knobs who just gave you a prod were in Police custody, would you push for charges to be pressed to prevent them repeating the offence? Or, would you brush it under the carpet because you have track record of acting like a ****?
Anyone who condones what happened to him, equally condones everything Barton's done.
The morons that attacked him, would have just attacked someone else if he hadn't been around.

I saw a report earlier on where it was suggesting there was more to it than him being randomly attacked, for a guy who thinks he is quite smart not the brightest thing to be doing being out at that time of the morning given his reputation anyway.http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896...39/joey-barton-arrested-following-altercation
Hmmm? Curiouser and curiouser...

For walking off after being assaulted?
He walked off because like any bully he realized he was going to get beaten clueless. Not because he was innocent in all this. In most cases it takes two but with Joey he'd start a fight with himself.

Agree Madhog. What some seem to be suggesting is that it's open season on tossers.
If that mob rule mentality were allowed, there's quite a few people that could never leave their house.
Bummy, honest answer? No. The law dealt with it. By steaming in for revenge I would 1) make myself as much of a scum bag as him in the first place and 2) would end up paying the price for that act, like he did.
Sounds like you're suggesting the best way to deal with violence and anti social behavior is by being violent and anti social (in a devils advocate manner).
