    My lads club recently played a footy team from Barrhead it ended in a mass brawl. Is it a nice place to visit? :emoticon-0103-cool:

    <laugh>

    I played there quite a bit as a boy.

    The local Renfrewshire pronunciation is "Borr-heed", its most famous landmark was an Armitage Shanks lavvy factory and it's a bit of a dump.

    If they wore red and yellow stripes, that's the "Bee Wye".

    The team that we ended up fighting with wore white but there was another team in Red and Yellow stripes. <ok>

    It all stopped eventually and the police turned up but soon went away again.

    The Junior team in Barrhead (Arthurlie) wear white with red trim.

    I can't imagine they'd ever be playing the BY unless it was a charity game or something, though.

    Junior football in Scotland is kind of our equivalent of non-league.

    The BY play in the J&D or the P&D league which is pretty much boy's football.
