I would like the whole thing consigned to the history book. I dont believe either party has much to gain from speaking out in a few months time, whenever. I think it was all handled very badly, neither party appears to be blameless and I think the best thing to do is let sleeping dogs lie.
Some Hull fans are consistently inconsistent. Why the sudden change of heart that Barmby was the hero and the Allams were villans. The Allams are starting to spend more money and suddenly its Barmby who is the villan. Before making any decisions on who did what and said what the full facts should be known.
The Allams may be spending cash, but I didn't expect them to be doing anything else after the relevations of the last couple of months. They were in a position this summer where they had to show intent and spend money to justify their sacking of Barmby and their disappontment at his comments. This does not however suggest that it is representative of their intentions during last season, just because they're spending now doesn't mean that they were always willing to do so. If they didn't show any ambition now, they would have effectively shown Nick to have been telling the truth and would have fully soured the relations with the majority of fans. For the record, I think there is fault on both sides and no party is totally innocent. However, just beacuse the Allams are spending the cash at present doesn't mean that Nick was telling porkies the whole time, it's not as cut and dried as Nick is lying and the Allams aren't. I'm happy to see the Allams willing to improve the squad and I think they have the clubs best intentions at heart. We could be saddled with clowns like Duffen and Bartlett! But i'm not going to be fully convinced of the Allams innocence in the matter when they had to act to back up their words.
Didn't Assem Allam say he wanted to buy Billy Sharp at one stage, but Nick said it wasn't necessary? Might have been in Bruce's media conference.
I don't have any knowledge of what happened, but it strikes me that maybe the Allams felt AP and Nick were ganging up against them, so to speak. Also has this been the owners way of realising that Nick was too in experienced for the job, and way of getting them both out, so they could bring in their own man and someone with more experience? Just a thought.
Where are they ongoing to? Does Nick have to sue the Allams?
I know OLM says he will tell his story but i cant see that happening.
completely agree, they could never not spend money now...but doesnt prove anything about what happened with barmby in january.
Difficult to prove and only an opinion, but I believe Adam Pearson was the problem, not Nick Barmby. I believe this was build from the January window onwards. I believe it was gaining unwelcome momentum when AP made his unnecessary (and unloyal) 'only in the free transfer' statement. this was after Barmby had said there was no need to spend as, in his opinion, the squad was good enough and he questioned the availability of anyone suitable to strenghten; we all questioned that one!. The terraces and boards were all calling fro a striker as a minimum - Barmby did not agree. Then the turnaround and his silly contradiction of the owners (and himself) - this had Adam Pearson written all over it. The Allams got rid of AP at a time that was practical for the club's season (Derby wished they could have been so expedient!), just as they had publicly stated they would do with any discussions about summer strengthening; they put the club first.
Barmby was pushed in by AP and the Allams foolishly took that advice and bigged it up; as you would expect. Barmby forgot who pays the wages and were his true loyalty should have been - I have no proof of anything, but too much has been said condemning the Allams; they are shrewd business men and will not be treated in an arrogant manner, not by emploees especially! Would you?
A pity for Barmby, but if he feels he could take us to the PL then I think he is deluded; he needs to go forth and learn the craft of management first. I would happily employ him, but he would need a better advisor that AP to guide him, as AP thrives on self-interest.

Sorry lads this thread is about what Nick does next nothing to do with how the Allams and Hull City are doing.

Yes he has got a course of action open to him and some of the things he could do are:
Look back at some of his crazy statements - he may have had good reason for sounding confused, but sound confused he sure did!
Try analysing the end of season and why we missed the play-offs.
Decide what he wants to do with his life - football manager or not? If yes, then approach it properly and get a job as a good understudy for a season or two.
If he was dismissed unfairly, then prosecute his case with vigour, if he was not, then put up his hands and end the matter.
Enjoy his life, he only has one, he has plenty of money and lots of time; do the important things in life and then do the frivolous, selfish, but thoroughly enjoyable things.
A great player, a good guy, best of luck and no hard feelings whatever the outcome.
Great post. I think Barmby is taking it a lot worse due to his love for the Club. I don't like the way that Barmby has just been chucked out of the Club after what he's done for us.
But then again, nobody knows what went on behind the scenes, and we probably won't ever know. I'm not holding a grudge against either the Allams or Barmby as it's impossible to take sides when nobody knows what happened besides themselves.
