Saw them at Cardiff top rank in feb1980, brass in pocket was charting, I was 6 months off 18 and was off my head on 4 cans of colt 45..
Dingwalls in Camden, can't remember the support, we had to get there early cos of the foodfights. It all went off in the queue. Not sure why it was so much fun but the meteors cattle turned up and I almost dislocated my elbow on one of their heads... was a complete psychobilly in those days
They supported the pretenders in feb 1980 (see earlier post) just before king hit the top 40. I bumped into Ally in Arequipa airport at baggage claim, we'd just flown in from Lima for my 50th, told him of that gig in Cardiff, and he was going to dedicate red red wine at the festival that night. Didn't go, don't know if he did. But he was a top bloke and wife was over the moon with the photo of them both. Wasn't a fan of reggae at all but now will put up with it
Got it... love ian McCullough but never got to see them. They were in melbourne at the palais in 2010, had tickets but had to give them to a friend as I had to go to a funeral that day... All yours Norway, can't wait to have another go at this.
To finish the 10, cramps at hammersmith odeon on date with elvis tour and Bristol for stay sick. Spear of destiny was on many occasions - loved everything they did especially after theatre of hate. The white quiff/ flat top was inspired by Kirk - I was young, impressionable and it worked a treat
Cheers Sorry you didn't get to see them, would have very much liked to catch them myself. Let me have a little think about what type of list, back soon.
