Hallelujah, someone who isn't Messi or Ronaldo finally won it.

Last time that happened we were still the biggest city to not have a PL team.

Interesting stat but I'm not convinced he's worth it at all.

Seems like people decided during the world cup that Modric was going to win it, and it just seems to have taken off as a cool, anti-Ronaldo/Messi thing.

I think he was one of the outstanding players of the WC - Ballon D'or winner? It lost all credibility for me when Ian Ashbee didn't win it in 2008

Ballon d'Or own goal: French host Martin Solveig sparks outrage as he asks first ever women's footballer of the year winner Ada Hegerberg if she can 'twerk' - leaving the audience open-mouthed.

It does seem tokenistic.

Modric is a great player but he's a class below Ronaldo and Messi.

It seems wrong that Messi/Ronaldo should not get the recognition they've earned just because people are fed up of them winning it. Even at the World Cup, Ronaldo probably had more of an individual impact than Modric.

That has quickly become he asked her to twerk in some papers.

He gotta be self sadistic or something like along those lines

Utterly stupid question

IIRC, both Modric and Bale played for Sperz the day we handed them their arses at WHL in 2008.
