Massively. I can’t remember the last time we have had so many players out injured at the start of a season
Alex Neil said it in an interview so that's where I got it from. Clearly hes no medic, but hearing that and knowing it was a slight fracture to the bone it sounded feasible
All I heard was he was "out for a significant length of time" or words to that effect. As far as I know neither Neil nor the club put any timescale on it 4 weeks would be wildly optimistic for a broken bone
completely this, said exactly this to lads yesterday....plus also said its a weird one with the world cup as sides flying as world cup comes wont want the break, its almost like end of a season then start of a new season month later, we may find form goes out the window for some & others who have struggled get going we will have nearly half a sides worth of players returning so fingers crossed we hit form straight after have also identified targets for january with will be half a month later & we can add to the side....just need to limp along a little until then hopefully not falling to far behind playoffs
real shame for the lad, he was getting some great support from the fans and that can take some doing in that short a time...hope he comes back just as strong. could we play a three of batth/alese/ballard, all can get their heads on a ball and strong enough to keep attackers at bay i think...might help us on set pieces defending and attacking wise, would be harsh on the lads who have all done a good job but we need to give ourselves every chance.
I must have dreamt it then . I know what I heard mate and it was 4 to 6 weeks until he'd be ready to start light training again. Obviously that was false information, but that's what was said when the scan results returned. I could sit here now and try and find the interview but I really cant be ar$ed. It's done now and after over 10 weeks we're still yet to see him anywhere near the matchday squad so either way its abit of a shyte situation really.
I think I've forgotten how good Ballard is. I love Danny Batth to be fair and O'Nien, Wright and Alese have all performed admirably. Does Ballard walk straight back in to that back line?
We are blessed with quality at centre back Flash, but injuries and suspensions will take their toll over the season and they will all get their chance. I hope that Mowbray makes them work hard to get in the team and maintain that effort to keep their place. The exception being Ross Stewart or Ellis Simms, they probably get the nod on the lack of alternatives.
