Sorry if this has already been done - I've had a look for it and can't see it anywhere.

With it looking increasingly like Bale going for up to £100m according to some papers this morning. Just wondering whether anyone remembers whether Rupert Bear put a sell on clause in the old contract. Know we ended up getting far less than what we should have...

Infact have we cut all ties on this deal now and taken early payment...?

Just thinking it would be a welcome bonus if we had like a 5-10% sell on on £100m deal...

Please see Summer Transfer thread for details.

In short, no we don't have a sell on clause - Lowe sold it off when we were scraping around for cash.
We will be due a solidarity payment as per FIFA rules though, which will work out around £2m.

Not to mention the deal to scrap the sell on included us picking up the esteemed Tommy Forecast.

I saw Neil Aston quote 5% rather than an actual monetary amount.

As discussed on the other thread, 5% is the total for training between 12 and 23, so we'll be sharing that with Spurs. We'll get 2% by my arithmetic. So certainly less than £2m, depending on the fee Spurs get.

Well it's cash for nothing if Tottenham do sell him. Sure, we missed out on a bigger payout from a sell-on fee, but it's still income into the club.

It's good that we have a 40% sell on fee on Chamberlain, not that he'll ever get close to Bale's brilliance with Arsenal's brilliant development of young players...

Not doubting that anyone is wrong here as I'd suggested myself that we ditched our sell on for early payment, but Talksport keep reporting today that we do have a sell on. Think it's jus national media guessing the facts as opposed to actually knowing as I'm sure the club and certainly the echo would be making some noise, but there's a little part of me hoping that we only kissed goodbye to the additional money for appearances etc and not the sell on clause.
Unlikely I'm sure especially as levy is shrewd but cross our fingers... Could there be a chance that that clause still exists?

Someone on Saintsweb is suggesting we settled the instalments early for a discount, instead of flogging the sell on. Don't think it is true myself, but oh how I would laugh if we robbed 20m from this.
