With that in mind his game time should have been more limited instead of starting and finishing every single game. Going from hardly playing for Bristol City to suddenly playing 2 games every week, it would have been nice if abit of common sense was adhered.

Were now potentially going to have to finish the season and try and gain promotion without our best Defender.

Sorry but Willis is by far and away our best defender.

I think you've just nailed Parkys policy, always play your strongest team and if it's not broken why change it. As I've said on the predictor thread, I'm now enjoying every game now. Hhhaaawwwwaaaaaayyyyyyyy the lads!!!

BBC radio Newcastle Bailey Wright is out for the season

I was told well before I posted the thread but was asked to hang back by the lad who told me.

I'm only saying this to put down a marker to people who accuse me of talking shyte.

I was told by someone who trusts me and prefers not to post these things. I have a thick skin so can take all the drivel from the trolls.

It's a shame that these people should be so hostile and prevent decent well meaning people from passing on what they hear.

The vitriol is totally out of proportion imo.

Probably unlikely we'll sign him, like you say.

Just thinking there that PP doesn't seem to want to protect players from over-work. If he has to do that they are not the right player for him.

Real shame this. Bailey has looked excellent and well up for it, clearly loves playing the game, and is a cracking defender. I like Ozturk, but his manhandling terrifies me, there is a red card and/or a penalty in there. He seems to get away with it a lot, but we only need one or two to get spotted and punished.

Thats by the by its about opinions. Doesnt make what i said any different.

It's not by the by, mate. What you said would apply if Willis was out for the rest of the season not, imo, Bailey Wright. Willis has been great all season, well on the way to player of the season pending Will Griggs 15 goals in 13 games climax to the season. I'm fairly confident ozturk can deputise for Wright and failing that we can always recall Jack Baldwin .

It is by the by because i couldnt give a toss whos better him or Willis. As ive stated already with the injury record he has, he shouldnt have been expected to play as much as he has, and he should have been looked after better.
Whether hes our best CB or not his performances have shown he could have been a quality player for us until May. The clean sheets weve kept since hes signed are no coincidence. As it is our squad has been weakened and we can only prey now no other CB gets a bad injury.

His spell with us has now been cut short, and it could have been avoided!

BYE the BYE...

Jack Baldwin?? Id rather have Mike Baldwin ffs.

Our form had already turned around and we’d kept a few clean sheets in a row before Wright came into the team. I’m confident that Parkinson has every man knowing his system now, which should make it easier for players to come in and out of the team.

Tees has a point about Parky not rotating the side. I understand that we are picking up results and this is one injury, but I’m certainly erring on the side of caution for fatigue and injuries taking its toll right at the end of the season.

I’m not sure why you should never rotate a winning side. Guardiola always does it and his managerial career is rather impressive. Yes, he’s managing better players, but he’s also up against better opposing teams and managers.

:emoticon-0136-giggl Okay, mate. You've clearly had a bad day. You just said it was about opinions and then in your very next comment trampled ahl owa mine. Wright was doing very well, he looks like a decent player but I think ozturk will do fine in his place. Oh, and he's not our best defender. That's all. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Wright had a scan yesterday after swelling went down, showing damage that will keep him out for 8-12 weeks... although I don’t think he’ll play again this season, as he’ll not want to risk further injury and due to him being out of contract, we have not sent him back to Bristol as yet. Hopefully we’ll offer him a deal as he’s capable of playing in the Championship if we get there, and more than capable if we don’t.

Bailey Wright has been ruled out for eight to 12 weeks after suffering an ankle injury in Sunderland’s victory at Oxford United.
The defender, who moved to the Stadium of Light on loan in January, was forced off with 84 minutes played at the Kassam Stadium.
Wright, 27, has made five appearances since arriving on loan, during which the Lads haven’t conceded a single goal.
Speaking to safc.com, Phil Parkinson revealed his disappointment upon hearing the news.
“It didn’t look good at the time and further tests have unfortunately confirmed that he will miss eight to 12 weeks,” said the Sunderland boss.
“It’s a blow for the squad, but more than anything we are disappointed for Bailey because he’s come into the team and played really well."
He added: “I’m sure he will come back stronger, but as I have mentioned many times before, the lads currently out of the team have been excellent and we have good options available in his absence.”

Gutted by his injury, but it's a squad game in this relentless league. I reckon we've the strongest squad in this league, and at the business end of the season our rivals will suffer injuries too.

I was there at Oxford, he didn't get injured due to being knackered or whatever, he went through the back of an Oxford player on the halfway line clearing the ball and got tangled up doing so. Could've happened to the fittest player on the block.
