A back three of Willis , Wright and Flanagan seems solid enough , O’Brien again looks a decent signing - What has happened to our recruitment? Oh yes Hill and Coton left didn’t they , good riddance!!!

CM is my biggest concern size wise, Dobson has a bit of height but he’s a bit short on ability on the ball. We are often absolute muckled in there by the oppo.

Always seems to be where we have an issue CM, I can’t remember last time I was happy overall with the options in there, almost back to the Reid years.

Great to get him in permanently, was instrumental during our better run under Parky. I dont see a better defender in this league, hopefully he can stay injury free.

Fingers crossed he's seen the last of the injuries he's had the last couple of years. Will be a very good player for us if he has

Isn't this just fans' normal pessimism based on long experience of cheap deals and on how long he played for us last season before getting crocked?

That's good to know, I thought he was injury prone because I'd heard he was before we signed him (no idea where from) and lo and behold he plays a few games and gets crocked. 30 games a season is fine though for a good player.

I though Scowen was excellent when he came on against Oxford. We were going backwards in horrible conditions. He came on and held the ball up well, played some cracking passes to get us moving and broke play up well. Hopefully after a decent preseason with the rest of the lads he'll show the same ability in the forthcoming season.

Have we retained him, I haven’t seen owt thought he was just a deal till end of season.

I agree he looked like he could do a job and certainly Barnsley and QPR fans rate him, we didn’t see much of him but we need a bit more in there for sure.

Think so, 12 month extension despite having a release clause.

That’s good, in the little we got to see at least he looked like he was always wanting to look forward, I actually assumed he’d left the club.

I still worry about any wing backs, and realistically we need a winger and/or striker depending on how we plan to use O’Brien.

The wing back options are absolute garbage as it stands. Fortunately you can cover that with change of system.

If we can keep Gooch fit and Maguire focused we’ve got a bit there. Gioch gets some pellets but I like him I like that he tries to do bits.

Agree With the bit about Gooch. He's one player who genuinely unnerves the opposition when he runs at them. Sometimes they'll double up on him, leaving space for the likes of Maguire, hence why he sometimes has quiet spells.

I like Gooch, he wastes a few crosses but that’s cos he’s always trying to drive into the box and get balls in, I’m ok with that. He’s a goalscorer as well, when he’s fit he always chips in.

If we had a run of fitness and consistency with him and Maguire I’d fancy we’d be doing alright, they both score a lot of goals for predominantly wide players.

Hopefully they stay fit and we can see what O’Brien is like up top, he scored 15 last season he had in that league if we added 15 goals to last 2 seasons we’d have gone up without question.

I think one person says it based on his few months with us then it sort of becomes internet truth.
