Well, Pards reckons it will be all quiet on the Transfer Front this week for a change. Something to do with the mid week internationals.

I couldn't quite make out if it was because the players we WILL be buying are involved for their country, or it was something to do with JFK not being available due to having to manage England and Scotland this week.

Gomis is a lumbering oaf, we've dodged a bullet there...a very expensive bullet at 70k a week.

There has to be a better striker out there for that kind of money.

There was talk of going for Jelle Vossen now instead, but that was rubbished by Mark Douglas as not true.

It's a shame, if so, because he is an excellent finisher with an absolute rocket of a strike.

Belgian Pro League isn't the best, but certain he could step up. Younger, and a better option than Gomis IMO

Are you oT in disguise?

In France at the minute so was watching the Canal + highlights show from Ligue 1 the other day. They discussed Gomis after the Lyon game and suggested that the deal was still a possibility. They also had a good laugh at our expense. One of the keepers (cant remember which team) made a howler by racing out of his box and getting nowhere near the ball. In the discussions after the game one of the panellists suggested it didn't matter if he got dropped next game cos he could always just force a move to Newcastle. Cue much hilarity from the panel and studio audience.

Maybe they were using cue cards to tell the audience when to laugh. Some of them probably haven't heard of Newcastle before.
