'Stress fractures are usually seen in athletes who increase their level of activity over a short period of time. The increased demand placed on the bone causes the bone to remodel and become stronger in the areas of higher stress. However, if the response of the bone cannot maintain the pace of the repetitive demands, a stress fracture may result. Stress fractures are almost always the result of increasing duration or intensity of an activity too quickly for the body to adapt.'

Bob's comment about stress fractures is worthy of attention. Monk's triple sessions represent a rapid increase in work load.
I made a point a month back about the unusual spate of preseason injuries that we have seen and many brushed it off .... well this is not a good injury to receive at any point your career in this particular area. In rushing to blindly support all that Monk has done and doing ... let's not be so blind to the repercussions.
You don't have to be against Monk to have perspective and you shouldn't lose it because you support him. As the saying goes .... best interest of the club .... Monk is not the club. Not nearly as much as Leon is ... if we have to quantify it in human terms, which I don't.
