Not for me as Roberts is similar to Ba when in the middle, it just never seems to work. Both are much better playing wide and running against a full back into the box. They both have the ability to cause panic.

Being in the middle it’s too congested for them and they seem to get caught in possession or in two minds when it comes to decisions.

Should be one or the other as we would end up in a reverse of when Pritchard was playing on the right. He drifted inside way too much causing massive issues with the team balance. Roberts or Ba would likely drift wide leaving a hole in the number 10 area.

Just my thoughts like!

All about opinions mate that’s why we here.

It was clear, imo, that Clarke has been asked to get passes and crosses into players ahead of him ...

... against Stoke he even took it too far and passed when he shudda shot.

If Roberts was doing the same it would improve him as a player imo.

At least twice he was in a good position to have a shot and was probably better option of then the pass!

Truth is, if Roberts scored and assisted as much as Clarke he wouldn’t be a Sunderland player.
He’s one of the most skilful players we’ve had for years.
If Amad does come back, Robert’s goes straight back in the team for me.

Roberts is a one trick pony with no end product and no defensive capability. Without having 3 or 4 players hugging his touchline like last season he’s ineffective. No idea why people cling onto him because he can dribble. Ba has been a bit part player this season and he’s only 5 combined goals and assists off Roberts total last season not to mention Roberts only having 1 assist in about 20 games this season.
