What's the betting they stalled on his medical so they could bargain with him on his contract?

Ba: I want £50k a week
Llambias: Well this doesn't look good *points to x-ray*, this tells me you have Carpenter's Knee Syndrome, which could flare up so explosively it could not only end your career, but injure any team mate within 30 yards of you
Ba: £40k?
Llambias: *stays silent*
Ba: £30k?
Llambias: After what happened with Dyer, Woodgate and Owen we aren't prepared to take that risk
Ba: £20k?
Llambias: Welcome aboard. :emoticon-0150-hands

Good signing. First time I've ever said I wanted a player and we've actually gone and signed them. Just need Moritz Volz and Geoffrey Mujangi Bia now.

Vargas? <whistle> Mansare Fode?

"I'm very excited to be here," said Ba, who became the Club's second signing in seven days following the arrival of Frenchman Yohan Cabaye last Friday.

"Everything has been sorted out and now I'm happy because I can start to focus on playing and scoring goals for Newcastle.

"This is a great Club and a very good team, so to sign here was an easy choice to make.

"I have spoken to Hatem (Ben Arfa) about the Club and he told me how happy he is here and how big Newcastle are, so I'm really happy and I can't wait to start playing.

"I know a lot of famous strikers have played here before and I will do my best to win games for the Club.

"When I step on the pitch, all I want to do is win games, and I think the Premier League is a good league for me.

"I will keep on working hard. I've heard that the atmosphere here is great and I can't wait to score some goals in front of our fans and here that atmosphere for myself."

SSN just showed an interview with Ba about joining the Toon.

He was asked whether he expected to be leading the line on his own and he replied that he had not been told that but that he was hear to help the team etc etc. Importantly it would appear that he has not been promised a guaranteed start. To me this adds to our hopes that there are more strikers to come, because lets face it he is currently our best striker by a country mile.

Also loads of good stuff to say about the being at the club. Good signs! :)

Very good signing on a free! Will certainly score goals at this level, good all-round 6ft 3' striker. He can head, he can finish & he's got decent pace. 1 more quality striker & we'll be laughing! Erdinc/Rondon/etc.. ?

has he got a 'club ambassador clause' written into his contract or something <whistle>

Taking Xisco's number means he'll no doubt be away somewhere again.

According to Scott Wilson on twitter (Cheif Sports Writer for The Echo)
Contract heavily incentivised. Fairly low basic wage, but big bonuses for appearances and goals

Which I for one think makes the deal even better, not bothered about giving him 100k a week if he earns it!

Cheeky video of him for West Ham. Excited to see him play!!
