Not sure you'll even be the closest challenger to them tbh mate. You're on the skids.
Sadly I have to agree and don't even think we will make it to Thursday night games. Lack of purchasing a decent holding DM is gonna hurt us big time.

Dempsey, Dembele, & Sig were the board rather than AVB and in the case of Dembele & Dempsey probably signed because we failed to bring AVB's target player Moutinho or our striker targets. It will be next season before AVB will be able to put his stamp on the squad.
It's too early to bring the jury in, but so far so good. What happens at Chelsea with managers makes it unfair to judge any of them on that basis IMO. Having a stable long term manager like you have with Moyes is the target to aim for.![]()
I rate Wenger as one of the best managers the English game has seen in the modern era, as he was responsible for a sea change in the way football was played & viewed in this country imo. When you sit in the Emirates & look around, it's Wenger that made it all possible & it's an incredible achievment....................BUT, he looks lost to me these days, his peers have copied him & he's lost the edge he had a decade back, his eye for a player is not what it was & for me, I think it'd be a sad end to his reign if he's hounded out. I hope he makes the right decision this summer & either goes upstairs or retires.

Wenger is a good manager there's no doubt about that. He's been great for making Arsenal money and hasn't managed to "crack" it since his Invincibles broke up.
Add to that their failure to now hang on to their best players due to this complete lack of success, CL qualification every year means shareholder joy but unless you start winning stuff.. You see where I'm going with this.
Good manager, great administrator but he's been struggling to get one good full season out of Arsenal for years.
It's now 9-10 years since he's managed to achieve anything like what he had before then. Financially the club are doing fantastic but from a fan perspective even they are not happy with the return of the last decade, even Liverpool have managed more in major honours in what has been a very difficult 10 years with several managers.
he's had enough time to bring his philosophy and implement it and win, but he has not managed to.
Nice football and winning nothing, bit like winning the possession but losing the match![]()

Quite looking forward to the Spurs game now, both of us in pretty good form and I like the attitude of the players recently.

the thing about AVB at Chelsea is that you (or at least I) could see what he was trying to do, but he didn't have the right playerz to execute his ideas.
Similar situation with Rodgers and liverpool this season, but our owners and fans seem to have more patience.

BBF - you could have saved typing that post if you'd have bothered reading the bit where I said "a decade back"![]()
AVB tried to smash the 'old guard' at Chelsea & it earned him the sack, Di Matteo pandered to them & won a CL & FA Cup double, if that's bad management, then I'll take it![]()
You don't seem to get it, SOS. AVB was brought in to Chelsea with the well known mission from upstairs to phase out drogba, lamps, terry and Cole - it wasn't his choice it was Roman's. If he hadn't tried to break up the old guard he still would have got the sack, for ignoring his mission.
