Among the chaos of Jagger and Richards there was Charlie Watts who kept the Rolling Stones as a function Rock n Roll band. As well as been exceptional drummer who played for the song...RIP Charlie Watts

Loved the R. Stones and first saw them when my first husband took me from Millom to the New Musical Express concert at Wembley in 1965. So memorable as also performing with them that night were groups Beatles,Moody Blues,Herman's Hermits, Animals, Kinks and the Seekers. Dusty Springfield and Donovan also appeared.

My current husband also attended - he was living in London, but we did not meet up until 1967 in South Africa where we shared this memory.

RIP Charlie Watts.

That's some line up, and a great memory!

It really is getting quite depressing all these Rock legends passing away. Inevitable of course, but depressing and sad in equal measures. RIP Charlie.
Don’t know about depressing John. Some of these lads took that much stuff back in the days I feel lucky to have had them this long. Very sad when you think of all the great young ones that were lost.

It's only as I've got older that The Rolling Stones have gradually grown to become my favourite band - just didn't really appreciate them as a youngster, (and that goes for many other bands of their era too). Never seen them live and sadly I don't think I ever will. I know he was 80, but Charlie's passing has got to me somewhat. They all just seemed immortal to me.

RIP Charlie.

Ted Dexter 83. One of those few people that people who don't have an interest in the sport they play have heard of.

Ted Dexter was my childhood hero. We lived Brighton until I was 9 and used to go to the Sussex Ground at Hove. He taught me, though he didn't know it of course, how exciting cricket could be. Great batsman and a pretty good fastish bowler often first change for England.
