I do have to agree with you TO A CERTAIN extent.

We dont seem to have any personalities in our side anymore like Windass (Funny), Mendy (Baffling), Ashbee (Hard Man)

Because the club was full of players who we could identify with before .
I have always felt a certain kinship towards ageing journeymen , sulky pre madonnas, sex beasts and frizzy haired barrow boys .

Now they have left you're right the connection has gone.

I'm just surprised it's taken me this long to realise .

Does not mean that they were bad players just because of their off pitch antics. I actually thought Marlon King was superb for us but dont condone what did OFF pitch.

Maybe if the team could play decent football against a weak team the fans would get behind them, i cant remember a season where our home fans have ever been that loud! We seem to wait until our away games to turn up the volume.

you will be one of the very few who think this. i feel more attached to this lot than browns PL wasters. once PB did the dirty on Deano i must admit i lost interest as the writing was on the wall. Since the big clear out the passion has come back. May i suggest you dont go anymore TWF and maybe take up knitting or shopping. the atmosphere @ Tescos is much better, so my mother in law tells me.

The comment was about their personalities, not their footballing ability.

Yes and their personalities and footballing abilities in turn generate ATMOSPHERE which this thread relates to.

If you get Windass pulling a face or bareing his back side it gives the crowd a lift as does King for example smashing a shot from distance into the back of the net or turning his man inside out in the box in anticipation of scoring. Its called excitement and I have to say for prolonged spells on Saturday I was not excited but more bored.
