EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 10/03/2018 : Aston Villa 4-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers A very good win to end the week of AVFC v the bottom and then the top teams on a high. AVFC retains 3rd place and now has a better GD than both Fulham and Cardiff and a game in hand on Fulham. If this game had been a 15:00 hours KO then I would have attended it and I suspect I am not alone in this, looking at the attendance this evening. Attendance : 37,836 (SSN) After this result AVFC's total Form Points rose from 87 to 88 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available is still 99 points, with 30 points left to play for. AVFC stay above par and are 3rd in the table, with 69 points and GD at +27 from 36 games.
EFL1 (Championship), Tuesday 13/03/2018 : Aston Villa v Queens Park Rangers, KO 19:45 hours. My AVF prediction, originally made on 27/02/2018 and reaffirmed today, 11/03/2018 : Aston Villa 3-1 Queens Park Rangers
EFL1 (Championship), Tuesday 13/03/2018 : Aston Villa 1-3 Queens Park Rangers Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 6-6 & 9-5 = 15-11 to AVFC, which compounds my surprise at this defeat. We are still 3rd but have lost the advantage of GD over Fulham and Cardiff, who won tonight, wasted the game in hand over Fulham and undone the good work against Wolves, who also won tonight. Attendance : 30,228 (SSN) After this result AVFC's total Form Points fell from 88 to 86 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available is now 96 points, with 27 points left to play for. AVFC stay above par and are 3rd in the table, with 69 points and GD at +25 from 37 games.
It's getting toward the pointy end of the season and I still think it's any 2 from 4 for the autos. A big night for us last night but we've still got you and wolves to play. A few more twists and turns to come.

EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 31/03/2018 : Hull City 0-0 Aston Villa The TV commentator summed up AVFC's performance today as 'stodgy' ... I agree. We need to get out of this rut. Attendance : 16,133 (SSN) After this result AVFC's total Form Points fell from 84 to 83 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available is now 91 points, with 21 points left to play for. AVFC stay above par and are 4th in the table, with 70 points and GD at +24 from 39 games.
EFL1 (Championship), Tuesday 03/04/2018 : Aston Villa v Reading, KO 19:45 hours. 02/04/2018 : This is the return fixture for the 3rd match of this Season, which was a 1-2 defeat that dumped AVFC to the bottom of the table. We then had our longest unbeaten run, 8 games (W 5, D 3), before losing at Wolves. We now need AVFC to repeat its second longest unbeaten run, the seven consecutive wins, to get as high in the table as possible. My AVF prediction, made today : Aston Villa 2-1 Reading
EFL1 (Championship), Tuesday 03/04/2018 : Aston Villa 3-0 Reading The required response from our lads tonight, so well done all. Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 12-1 & 13-3 = 25-4 to AVFC ... very one-sided, but I am not complaining ! Attendance : 29,223 (SSN) After this result AVFC's total Form Points rose from 83 to 84 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available is still 91 points, with 18 points left to play for. AVFC stay above par and are 4th in the table, with 73 points and GD at +27 from 40 games.
EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 07/04/2018 : Norwich City v Aston Villa, KO 12:30 hours, SKY. 05/04/2018 : The question is ... what Aston Villa will turn up, the attacking one, or the 'stodgy' one ? I am hoping for the former and the victory that this approach to the game will deserve. please log in to view this image My AVF prediction, made today : Norwich City 1-2 Aston Villa
As an avid Canary,I can predict a comfortable win for Villa. We are a team going nowhere, and our home form is diabolicle. Our best player Maddison is cream crackered, our only attacker Oliveira couldnt score in a brothel. Best of luck in your quest for the Prem. My prediction Canaries 0 AV 2
Thanks for the info Budgie. Irrespective of the result, I hope it will be an entertaining game today. 07/04/2018 : This link may not work, beware too of any redirects and/or download offers. Stream link, KO 12:30 hours : Feed2All - Norwich City v Aston Villa
EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 07/04/2018 : Norwich City 3-1 Aston Villa That was like watching a training game, so little urgency was there from AVFC today. The play was too often square and backwards, which just invited the opposition to press, which they did. Since when has Jack Grealish been a defensive screen, for that was where he was for most of the game, totally wasted in a backward, ineffective position. It is a wonder that he was allowed out to score our goal today ! Attendance : 26,278 (SSN)
EFL1 (Championship), Saturday 07/04/2018 : Norwich City 3-1 Aston Villa This could have been another double for AVFC, but Bruce blew it today with his lacklustre tactics. After this result AVFC's total Form Points fell from 84 to 82 ... that is, points after 46 games. The maximum available is now 88 points, with 15 points left to play for. AVFC stay above par and are 4th in the table, with 73 points and GD at +25 from 41 games.
EFL1 (Championship), Tuesday 10/04/2018 : Aston Villa v Cardiff City, KO 19:45 hours, SKY. 08/04/2018 : This match against Cardiff should have been AVFC's opportunity to reduce the points gap to just 1, but, due to the inept tactics applied against Hull and Norwich, the 7 point gap remained. A repeat of those inept tactics on Tuesday will probably see the gap extend to 10 points. My prediction below is based on hope over experience. My AVF prediction, made today : Aston Villa 2-1 Cardiff City
