A very good win to end the week of AVFC v the bottom and then the top teams on a high. AVFC retains 3rd place and now has a better GD than both Fulham and Cardiff and a game in hand on Fulham. If this game had been a 15:00 hours KO then I would have attended it and I suspect I am not alone in this, looking at the attendance this evening.

Per the SSN Live Commentary the attempts (including goals) were 6-6 & 9-5 = 15-11 to AVFC, which compounds my surprise at this defeat. We are still 3rd but have lost the advantage of GD over Fulham and Cardiff, who won tonight, wasted the game in hand over Fulham and undone the good work against Wolves, who also won tonight.

02/04/2018 : This is the return fixture for the 3rd match of this Season, which was a 1-2 defeat that dumped AVFC to the bottom of the table. We then had our longest unbeaten run, 8 games (W 5, D 3), before losing at Wolves. We now need AVFC to repeat its second longest unbeaten run, the seven consecutive wins, to get as high in the table as possible.

As an avid Canary,I can predict a comfortable win for Villa. We are a team going nowhere,and our home form is diabolicle.Our best player Maddison is cream crackered,our only attacker Oliveira couldnt score in a brothel.

That was like watching a training game, so little urgency was there from AVFC today. The play was too often square and backwards, which just invited the opposition to press, which they did. Since when has Jack Grealish been a defensive screen, for that was where he was for most of the game, totally wasted in a backward, ineffective position. It is a wonder that he was allowed out to score our goal today !

08/04/2018 : This match against Cardiff should have been AVFC's opportunity to reduce the points gap to just 1, but, due to the inept tactics applied against Hull and Norwich, the 7 point gap remained. A repeat of those inept tactics on Tuesday will probably see the gap extend to 10 points. My prediction below is based on hope over experience.
