Once again I'm not sure what you're asking. You originally suggested I find out about the possibility of resurrecting the FLC and I said I would ask about it, because I know that the people I'm close to will have discussed it and would be able to answer that very quickly. As you know, the people I talk to are in charge of the OSC, so am I going to ask them to tell Mr Allam that they aren't representative? No, that'd be ridiculous. As I keep saying, I have no idea what your argument actually is apart formt hat you aren't happy with the OSC.

He asked a fair bit about the situation with odds, but he definitely said he didn't understand what being 1/6 meant. He asked if he would get 6 pounds back for betting 1 pound, which of course is the wrong way round.

I can't really see what's confusing.

By way of showing that the OSC are representative, you offered to raise my point with Mr Allam. You've now said you won't because you don't like the question. Pretty much the same criticism many had about the high handed attitude of some on the former FLC.

It's unfortunate that it could well leave Mr Allam getting a very wrong impression of what fans views are.

Hopefully his people are reading the board and will pick up the weakness.

I think he is aware of things posted on forums and as his name is the title of this thread I'd be surprised if he isn't aware of what's being discussed. What I said I would ask was about resurrecting the FLC. You've now moved the goalposts to something completely different, effectively asking someone to point out to the owner of the club that they aren't doing their job.

As I've said several times, I help out with the OSC but I don't run the thing, so me asking this for you is not a test of the OSC at all. If you joined the OSC and raised this point I imagine you'd get a pretty quick and full answer, probably being that Mr Allam doesn't want to reopen the FLC.

The primary objective of the OSC is to provide a service for a small fee. For £8 a year you get 5% off in the shop and free entry to events among other benefits, it pays for itself pretty quickly. It's not really supposed to be a means of supporters giving their views to the club at all. Mr Allam uses it for that purpose through his own choice. What they do and what the FLC did are very different.

I haven't moved the goal posts at all. If you check back to where you made the offer, my request then is exactly the same as it is now.

It was YOU that made the offer, and at the time I was reluctant to take it up because I had a strong feeling it would be futile.

Your last paragraph really highlights why I asked the point to be made to Mr Allam. To not raise the point leaves your mate with a responsibility he shouldn't be taking on. For his own credibility he needs to make the point to Mr Allam that his views are his own personal ones and that it would be wise for him to canvass further afield among other City fans and groups.

I see nothing at all contentious in that. It's what I would expect any sensible person to do in that position.

He may well have said exactly that, he's not stupid and neither is Mr Allam. He might not know football but he'll know that one person is never totally representative of a group. It wouldn't be much of a highlight from the meeting and I wouldn't give a ****, so he's not going to make a point of telling me that. Especially when he's just found out our owner plans to abolish scouting in favour of internet research.

I offered to ask about the FLC thing, I'm going to ask anyway because I'd be interested to know myself. I'll post it when I find out and it'll be something along the lines of Mr Allam not wanting to do it, I'm fairly sure. It will have been suggested already and as it hasn't happened, that seems the obvious conclusion. You've since asked me to say something completely different which would be a ridiculous thing to say, and wouldn't ever reach the owners, there lies the moving of goalposts.

I'm still not sure what your overall argument is. I get that you don't like the OSC, you seem to have misunderstood their purpose and I've told you what they actually do. What is the debate now?

**** me. Is it a full moon?

I haven't moved the goal posts. It looks like you didn't read the first questions I made when you offered.

YOU offered to raise issues on my behalf. I made two points. I was reluctant to because experience has shown me that people do exactly what you've done and instead of asking the question, try to answer it from an uninformed position.

That was one of the pit falls of the former FLC.

I've tried to answer it from an uninformed position initially because it seems quite obvious, but I'm still going to find out and post it. I apologise if I missed a second question in your original point, but as I've said several times I'm not going to ask that, it won't go any further than the person I ask and it's a ridiculous suggestion.

This whole idea of me finding something out for you was a sideshow to the original debate, but I never understood what your original point was and you haven't elaborated further because you're still going on about this question thing. If you have an argument to put forward on this OSC topic please do so and clearly state what it is without all the messing about. If not that's fine too, we won't need to clog up the thread with any more of this.

Again, I'm not having a go, I just think this whole conversation is all bollocks and nothing is actually being said.

It was always going to be bollocks, that's why I said at the time I posted the questions I was reluctant to ask. I could see exactly where it would go. I just didn't realise how long it would take to get there.

I never asked you to answer my questions,I asked you to simply to put them to Mr Allam via the OSC as you offered. You needlessly took it upon yourself to try to answer a question that clearly you were never going to be able to because I wanted (as was offered) Mr Allams view, not yours.

I think it's a very valid and sensible suggestion for all parties to know their positions. It's revealing that you disagree and trust that Mr Allam knows he's not speaking to a representative of most fans.

to be honest this page alone has basically proved your mate is on his agenda and anything he said to you will be biased ... the OSC "hierachy" think they are the voice of the fans , that facebook page alone shows they are not ... If any self respecting member of the OSC had anything about them they would get that frontpage removed and replaced with a blanket picture etc that follows the line of the club .. or do they now forget the word SUPPORTERS within what OSC means ? ...

you have been led by someone on his own agenda and with his own biased opinion ... for that I feel for you .. If that is your source , then oh dear

Interesting that you are able to respond in almost perfect detail on a conversation in which you were not involved.

A more cynical person than myself might almost think this was one of those legendry "Lies" that seem to have invaded these boards.

I've only just seen the Cott OSC facebook group - thankfully i only have one "friend" on it .
It reminds me of the Life of Brian sketch in the colosseum - "the popular peoples front" etc etc .

what a bunch of hand wringing fannies

I've heard a little bit of Papa Allam's thoughts about the current situation at the club from someone who speaks to him now and then and met with him recently. I'm not going to say who it was and I know people are going to be sceptical. But I know for a fact that this guy met with Mr Allam formally and I trust him that everything he told me was true. I can't force anyone to believe me but I assure you this is from Mr Allam's mouth. I don't want to reignite the old debates completely but this is some new information to me and I think it's of interest to other fans.

Mr Allam asked why the fans don't 'love' him and why they didn't 'protect' him over the Barmby/Pearson saga. A strange choice of words but he basically couldn't understand the backlash from fans and doesn't seem to have realised quite how many people still back him. He said he could leave at any time if he wasn't 'loved' by the fans, which I thought sounded a bit strong.

He didn't fully understand the odds system regarding managers because he doesn't gamble, and asked what Bruce being 1/6 on actually meant, I don't know whether he was suggesting it was out of the question or quite likely. But I can't see it happening anyway. He says he will only appoint a manager with PL experience (or the equivalent from abroad). I'm not sure if he will have the choice anyway, but it's interesting. He also said the same thing about players, which I think is a ridiculous notion (Rickie Lambert anyone?)

The most interesting thing he said was that he was completely binning the club's scouting network. He thinks it's an unnecessary expense because he can easily look up information on players on the internet, he says there is enough info on players out there for a decision to be made based on that.

Everyone knows my stance on the way they are doing things so I won't bore you all with it again, but I wanted to share this information (and once again, I have no doubts about its legitimacy, regardless of my initial stance or bias) with the rest of the board.

Seems like your mate was talking bollocks and you are a poor judge, but we'll wait and see shall we.

Face facts, the OSC is run by complete and utter cxxts on behalf of other complete and utter cxxts. If people wish to spend good money joining this cxxt club mixing and travelling with complete and utter cxxts then good luck with that. They do not represent the view of the majority of City fans and yet somehow think they do. This is because they are complete and utter cxxts and the Cott OSC are the best example of this.

I may well be a cxxt myself but at least I'm not that kind of cxxt, thank fxxk fot that.

Do you really think someone's 'bias' or 'agenda' could fabricate a conversation in which he was told by the owner that scouting was being stopped? I'd understand your point if this was a conversation about opinions but it isn't, this is just about what Mr Allam plans to do at the club and was happy to tell the OSC he plans to do. Whether the OSC arer representative or not is a completely seperate and totally irrelevant issue. Whether you like it or not, Allam said he doesn't want scouting at the clbu any more because he can find it all on the internet himself. To any normal person that would lead them to the conclusion that he's bonkers and doesn't know anywhere near as much as he thinks he does about football, but to someone who's decided already that the guy can do no wrong, well I guess you'd tell yourself that it was all made up wouldn't you?.

I've simply relayed what I was told, the not knowing about odds thing was just surprising so I was told what I've told you there. It's hardly perfect detail.

Seems like your mate was talking bollocks and you are a poor judge, but we'll wait and see shall we.

I must be missing the part where it 'seemed my mate was talking bollocks' but no, I still don't expect it to be Bruce. That's my opinion and nothing more, just as it was when I posted that. I can't see him coming here. I could well be wrong, but it's got nothing to do with this scouting conversation it's just what I expect.

To take a degree in Economics then become an accountant I would assume he has studied an equivalent of at least A lvl maths if not higher.
Anyone who has studied maths at this level has most certainly studied probabilities and seeing as betting odds are a probability expressed as a fraction I would guess Papa Allam understands them just fine.

and at the end of the week if bruce is appointed you may want to speak with your friend again since one of them are now championing bruce to be a done deal .. but hey , he would not spin anything to you if your a known forum user eh ? ... ;)

City of London Polytechnic 1974 - 1977. It was the first pure accounting degree in the country.

Before my degree I investigated all courses with any significant accounting content. Over the years I have kept up to a certain extent with accounting education. My final year marks were based on ten 3 hour exams in one week at the end of the year. Coursework didn't contribute to the marks and there were no multiple choice questions.

In that case you should be embarrassed by your mindless comments - it seems your are a liar or a fool - the odds (sic) are that you are both. Crack on.

A-level maths does not teach gambling odds ffs. Even if it did it wouldn't mean much, I did A-level maths not long ago and I can't remember half of it now.

I haven't a clue what you're suggesting because you're sentences don't make sense, but I think you're misunderstanding me. The Bruce thing was simply my prediction. When talking about odds he used Bruce as an example, but he and the person he spoke to didn't discuss whether Bruce would get the job because that's obviously very secret information.

In that case you should be embarrassed by your mindless comments - it seems your are a liar or a fool - the odds (sic) are that you are both. Crack on.

Your propensity to indulge in mindless abuse while feeling safe behind your computer monitor does yourself no favours.

When you said: “Over the last 40years I have studied and used a number of disciplines and I can still apply them to my avantage today.” it prompted my question: “If you don't mind me asking, what is your role in business today?”

Your unwillingness to answer that question, your total lack of any constructive comments and your abusive behaviour leads me to the conclusion that you are unhappy with your life and your only source of comfort is to insult others.
