Apparently they just said 'I thank you' and showed him the door.
Wow, didn't expect that. Had a fall out with the board by all accounts, they really are rubbish owners and the fans absolutely despise them. They like Askey too so this will go down as a lead balloon, especially if Dave Penney pops his head back up as interim etc.
