There are a number of top class colts with first crop 2yos this year - Dream Ahead, Canford Cliffs, Pour Moi, etc. First season sire is a numbers game these days, so odds are it will be the likes of Zoffany or Poet's Voice.

PN, is there anywhere you can view the upcoming race programme. I know trainers get a nice glossy book every couple of weeks giving them the forthcoming fixtures and race conditions but is there anywhere where us mere mortals can view this publication?

I don't think there is anywhere online Stick, you could opt to buy The Programme Book, which is released quarterly, but it costs £130 per year.

The problem with The Programme Book is that it is just an outline, the definitive races and conditions appear in The a Racing Calendar which is published weekly for races 3 weeks ahead. However it is £356 for an annual subscription.

FRANKEL's full brother has been named:

PROCONSUL will go into training with Andre Fabre this year.

I've heard that Midday's first foal has been sent to Sir Michael Stoute but am not sure on a name yet.

I just had to add that the Juddmonte office deserve an award for their naming creativity, if only for the standout of the year so far:

2013 Filly by Manduro ex Quiff - BARNET :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Possibly, I'm not sure how they do it. They don't have as many to name as Darley (400-odd!) that's for sure!

Hello all, long time, no post! Sorry for the absence but life has been very busy over here.

Thought I'd get back into the swing of things by posting today's exciting news that Dar Re Mi's yearling colt by Frankel will be offered up for sale later this year. It's Watership Down's policy (as with many other commercial breeding operations) to retain fillies and sell colts, and this one has "Potential Sale Topper" written all over him!

Yearling sale entries are currently underway, though it will be a good few months yet before we see any catalogues. One thing's for sure, this year's Sales season could see fireworks!

PNkt, off to Newmarket tomorrow for the very first time, shame on me I know. Are you in attendance tomorrow as it would be an honour to meet you. We will be in "owners".

Good luck stick. I hope he runs a cracker.

Timeform says
: Off the mark in a Windsor handicap last month, and stuck to task well when third at Kempton (1m) off this mark subsequently. However, not sure that step back up in trip here will be in his favour.

They might be wrong with this one. Stiff straight 10f on turf, wide galloping track. Get in.

Stick, sadly I'm not racing this meeting. I'm at home tonight with the baby as my husband is away for the night and am working all day tomorrow.

Good luck with your runner!
