The first Frankel foal will go under the hammer at the inaugural Goffs London Sale on Monday night. The colt will be offered alongside his dam CRYSTAL GAZE (dam of last weekends Epsom Dash winner CASPIAN PRINCE and cG2 winning sprinter SPIRIT QUARTZ), who is also carrying to Frankel again. The pair (or should that be trio?!) are expected to make 7 figures.

They are being offered by Qatar Bloodstock, who are known to have quite a few Frankel foals.

More here.

There's been a change to the order for the Goffs Sale tomorrow night. Instead of being the last lot sold, the colt and his dam will now enter the ring after the 38 breeze up horses have sold. The change has been made in the interests of the colt after connections decided he should not spend too long on site. He will enter the ring at around 6.30pm.

Is that what they paid for just the colt? Or was it a job lot with the pregnant Mare?
If so, that really was a snip!!

The sale was in sterling as it was held in London. The price was for all 3 - the foal, the mare and the Frankel foal she is carrying.

Frankel's stud fee was set at £125,000 a time by owner Prince Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms.
The Sir Henry Cecil-trained colt, who mates with about 120 mares during the breeding season <yikes>

I want to come back as a Champion Racehorse!!

The Racing Post have kindly done my job for me and produced a list of all the foals born by Frankel this year. You can see the full list here.

There are 108 foals listed from 126 mares in foal. It is not known yet whether the remaining 18 mares lost their foals late in pregnancy, the foals died shortly after birth, or possibly (as is often the case) those born overseas have not yet been declared to have been born. The foals only need to be declared in their country of birth, not where they were conceived.

There are 57 colts and 51 fillies in the list.

I will also post this in the Frankel's First Book thread I started last year.

Very good piece on Frankel and his offspring. Not sure why it's called "Part 2" as I can't find a "Part 1"!

SEA THE MOON becomes Sea The Stars second Classic winner in his first crop, hosing up in the G1 German Derby. The colt is now as short as 6-1 for the Arc.
