Runner-up on both starts at two, Anodin came alive in first-time blinkers to open his account in style and book a potential place in the line-up for the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains over this same track and trip May 12. Restrained in third early under cover against the rail, the enthusiastic runner swooped on the front end when angled out for his run and dominated the final 100 meters en route to a 1 1/4-length success from Dastarhon (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) at a generous 4-1.

Princess, please can you help me out? I am looking for some information about Beneficial's progeny and their general liking for different ground conditions. Do you know anything?
According to the Racing Post Stallion Stats for Beneficial, he's progeny are pretty consistent on all types of ground:
11% of his runners on heavy win
10% of his runners on soft win
10% of his runners on good to soft win
10% of his runners on good win
11% of his runners on good to firm win
He's had most runners on soft (1953) and good (2015) going.

pN, have you heard anything about Michael Stoute's health? Saw somewhere else that he's not been very well.
Also on the Ballymacoll site it appears that maybe Spring Symphony the dam of Glass Harmonium may have had twin fillies. What if that's the case is the prognosis these days?

Fromwhat I have heard Sir Michael Stoute has been in hospital after developing a gall bladder problem. I'm not sure if they've taken it out but I have heard he is on the mend and should be out this week.
As far as twins go, I am surprised to hear of an arrival. The mares are scanned so frequently through their pregnancy that you'd expect them to have picked up on the issue sooner and dealt with it - the most common solution is to "pop" one embryo in the early stages (ie first 2 months). Twins are always smaller and weaker than a regular full term foal. It all depends whether they are both small and weak, or whether one managed to gain more nutrition than the other and is a bit better devloped. The next few months will be critical in determining whether they have a viable career as racehorses ahead of them.

Thanks pN. As I said it only appears that way as there are two foals listed by Ballymacoll with the same pedigree. It may just be a mistake. I always remember Noel Murless training twin issues from his wife's mare Caegwrle (1000G winner). They were called Freddy Farkel and Fanny Farkel, and I can't remember them being any good. Fanny did have a few winning foals.
Hi Princess. Do you know what is happening with Blue Bunting? As far as i was aware she went to Street Cry after being retired early 2012 but i haven't heard anything since.

Frankel's 2yo half-sister JOYEUSE has been showing plenty at home and is much further forward than any of her brothers at the same stage. She will likely make her debut later this month and they are considering the Albany at Royal Ascot for her.

Princess do you have any news on the progeny of Zarkava? If I understand it correctly, she produced a filly by Dalakhani in 2010 and a colt by Sea The Stars in Feb 2011. I think the filly has been named Zerkaza but I can't find her listed on the Racing Post website. Has she had problems?

I am off to Chester tomorrow (wednesday) for the first day of the May meeting. The Chester Cup is always tricky to say the least but I have just read a stat online which says avoid gelded horses. The majority of the field are gelded and I was wondering if you have any info that might shed some light on this somewhat odd statistic. Also, I know Chester is a unique course, but is there a similar track anywhere else in the UK so that I can study horses who are likely to take to the turns.
