Yep. About time we took the longer view.
We should have picked KP.......

Yep. About time we took the longer view.

TO be honest mate I think we've been fairly sound with our commitment to captains for as long as I can remember. 2 of our last 3 captains have lasted over 5 years. Vaughan, Hussain and Atherton all had long stints too. Our only mistakes have been when experimenting with giving the captaincy to the "maverick" of the side (Flintoff and Pietersen). Never works out, captaincy is a role for the steady.Yep. About time we took the longer view.
I don't back a KP return but the Ashes victory is no thanks to our top order. He would probably have done a better job than Bell, Ballance. If he wasn't a **** I would have thought about pushing bell up to open and bring KP in 4 with Root 3.We should have picked KP.......![]()

Morgan throws so much **** at the wall but still thinks he's a genius when some of it finally sticks. This was always going to come back to haunt him. Enjoyed nothing more than seeing Brett Lee break his ribs.I agree!
Anyway, can't wait for Piers Morgan to be appointed Pope in August ........![]()

You're probably right, although I'm sure the ECB would argue we've had some decent success under our model. Cook will be safe now until at least the next Ashes. Another humiliation away from home would be unacceptable for me, if we haven't learned from the last trip then what's the point? That will be a defining series in whether Cook is judged as a success or a failure.8 or 9 captains in 15 years I think. And not all consecutively. I know some get dropped due to bad form, or unavailability, etc.
I think you've actually nailed it there though JC, referring to the experimentation with some captains.
I guess it's more that sort of crap that winds me up. I doubt the Aussies, the South Africans, the Windies or the Kiwi's have tinkered in the same as us in the last 15 years.
The words straws & clutching come to mind mate, lol.Meanwhile in the NetballAussies 51 Poms 41
Women's Ashes Aussies 2/80 off 27 overs

Mate I wouldn't be Australian if I didn't celebrate a win over England! Was hoping it was going to be lawn bowls but Netball will do lolThe words straws & clutching come to mind mate, lol.![]()
