I find it staggering that Warner has 21 test matches hundreds. All I have ever seen is a limited player with a big mouth and an extremely punchable face.

Root, who is supposed to be brilliant, has 'only' 16, and in eight more tests.

The Aussies just have that appetite and application for big innings that the English seemingly can't be arsed with.

Ben Stokes has failed a fitness test so is in purely as a batsman

Curran should have been in the team bloody ages ago over Overton.

Test team proper stinks at the moment.

I said before the World Cup that this year for once I'd take the World Cup over the Ashes but deep down test format is what really interests me.

Test then ODI and T20 a distant third.
 
Lets make the Aussies look like Arsenal. Celebrate mediocre achievements

All they have done is retained the ashes so far. They have won **** all yet

I said at the start Curran should play. Him is rare commodity in cricket a left hand swing bowler and he is more then decent with the bat

Lets win this test. Draw the series and end this as a great summer which it will be regardless of this test anyway.

There is very little between the sides. Both good bowling attacks. The different has been Smith. Time for Root, Denly, Bairstow, Buttler to score big and show they can score runs aswell

Yeah Steve Smith has been excellent - I think their bowling attached has been very good too.

Our normally reliable middle order let us down this series.

Butler looked like a test player last year against India but has been really poor this season - Baistow has just been poor.
